Time to brag
I was reading a thread today that talked about the gift of time. Perhaps that's the most valuable gift we can give to ourselves or others. I'm being nostalgic, I guess, because I heard yesterday about a friend who passed away too, too early but never headed warnings about caring for himself - but yet another person who also passed away at 36 who was in "tip-top" shape. So here is the gift of a new day. I hope that I will take the "time" to connect with someone in a positive way and put a smile on his/her face. I hope you will too. Just being a part of SC puts a smile on my face! Have a wonderful summer's day!

Wonderful brag about time, I find that there is never enough, and sometimes just have to stop what I'm doing, and sit on the floor to play with my girls. I am sorry to hear about the loss of your friend.

So sorry about your loss! You sure made my day with your kind PM! Yes, we get soooo busy that it is good just to slow down & enjoy the day with friends & family! :)

Sorry to hear about your friend. Thanks for the reminder.

Sorry to hear about your friend. I find that as I get older, death troubles me so much more because it reminds me of my own mortality, staring me straight in the face.
and like Littlemoe, I sometimes stop in the middle of doing something banal (like dishes, laundry, computer work etc.) and announce to the kiddies, "you know what? This ISN"T important and it CAN wait. Let's go play something!" I just love the smile I get from them when I say that. But even then, I'm sure I probably don't do that as often as I should.
My youngest's favourite song ion my i-pod is Lenka's, "Live like you're dying." ;) She knows all the words. What the heck--I can think of worse things for her to be singing to.

Thanks for the reminder! So true, that we often neglect ourselves for the sake of others...I know I do as a Mom. I have been running around all morning like a chicken with its head cut off so now, thanks to you, I am going to sit and enjoy a cup o coffee. Hope everyone has a great day! So thankful to be a part of the SC community:-)
