I always smile at Patty Smyth's brags including her fruit and veggie shops!
Unfortunately, I am not close to a metropolitan centre like la belle Montreal, so our fresh produce deals here in the great white northern Ontario are few and far between, but today I think I got a heck of a deal and thought I'd brag in Patty style about my produce (see below!):
All of this cost me $30.00! Might not be a bargain in your area, but sure is in mine!
The peaches, plums and potatoes were $5; pears were $4; cherries were $8; tomatoes were $1 ea., so all in all, with DH's teens still here another week and with everything being in season, I couldn't help myself!

Great prices for up there. I think maybe people don't realize how expensive things are when transport becomes a factor. It's a big a$$ country.
I see a toasted tomato and cheese sandwich in the future. LOL

I have no idea if that's a deal or not-I've never bought that much produce at once.My family has some bizzare idea that since we live minutes away from the store we should only get a couple days worth at a time
It must be a deal though-I know you wouldn't brag otherwise

Wow! I salute your brag. I feel humbled to live in a part of Canada where I can drive .5 an hour and see all of these things growing and pick them up from roadside stands. $8.00 for cherries! Holy Doodle! I could eat $8.00 of them as a snack - proves that we should appreciate the things we have in our lives that just - come to us easily!
