Referral Event - 30$ before or after coupons?

Okay, so I never spend the minimum AFTER coupons, always before, and I always get my points. However, I don't recall doing it for a referral event because it's been a while!

So, just wondering for the sake of discussion if anyone has done it before (for a refer-a-friend event) and gotten the points? And if someone does it tomorrow and the points happen to show up right away PLEASE LET ME KNOW! lol

I'm just going to quote them.

Can any confirm/deny with the changes to the SDM Cash Registers that either we:

A) Can get $30 worth of items (pretax) and use coupons to bring the total down,
or
B) Must spend $30 OOP (pretax) AFTER our coupons are processed?

(assuming the coupons are input correctly with 2001 code and that none are FPC)

I can confirm this. Your sub-total has to be a min. of $30 pre-tax and AFTER COUPONS. For referral events, it doesn't matter what coupon code is used.

For 20x points events, you can let your pre-tax subtotal drop below the minimum purchase need with 2001 coupons and still get the bonus points. Unfortunately, referral events are a different beast. Hope that helps!

Yep. It's always been after coupons for the referral event. And it isn't the best time to try and see if it works because your whole group is counting on you.

Agree 100%. I remember all the problems last time. Poor Cyanne.

I hope everyone educates themselves about the rules for the referral event. And if in doubt, play it on the safe side.

Interesting question.

I do not plan on using any coupons during the referral event so it won't affect me but as Silk and abbasgirl have stated, a lot of people will be depending on you to make the minimum $30.00 purchase. Better safe than sorry.

Yup! ALWAYS been AFTER for refer a friend. And any of those GC that you get when you spend X amount are coupons! Your OOP must be $30 before tax!

side question...I just bought a whole whack of oasis juice from SDM. My sub total is 31.77 before GST but excluding bottle deposits, it will be under $30. am I ok with the bonus points???

You should be ok since the deposit comes up as an item, not a separate total like the GST does at the bottom, it actually shows up as a $0.05 or $0.10 item. That's just my guess though.

Best thing you could do is call SDM headoffice to ask about the deposit.

This thread is more than a year old. Surprised you could even find it. No new event going on that I know of. It will be announced in this SDM section if there is one. And it will be a new thread!
