I have no idea what a sandwich maker is...
This is one :

I have 2 of them. Both were wedding presents. One was from Sears and one from Walmart. That was five years ago though......
There are kinda cool. I didn't know either until I received it as a gift. You can make waffles in it, grilled cheese sandwiches, etc
Yup they are great .. especially for making grilled cheese sandwiches as the cheese melts right in to it ...if you make a toast & then put cheese on it ( block cheese not cheese slices ) it doesn't really melt :-)
I also find them much faster to make sandwiches than toasters :-)
Canadian Tire had it online on their website ..but its no longer available which is weird

4-in-1 Sandwich Maker
Four-in-one sandwich maker. Four interchangeable plates: sandwich, waffle, grill and griddle. Stainless-steel with "cool touch" handle. Non-stick plates for easy cleaning
If you can't find one new, I'd check out Value Village. There always seem to be a ton of them for around $5.
First time seeing it too. I guess they are not very popular anymore, hence, why they are hard to find.
value village you may find one for nice and cheap, you can also try the superstore in thier small appliance area.. i guess they this style has gone out of style with all the new panini style presses/makers out now a days
Oh I love my sandwicher maker!!! they are really popular in Australia! I bought mine a few years ago at walmart.
i just got rid of mine to Value Village...loved it at first but rarely used it the last few years
every second hand store, garage sale and kijiji section will be littered with them!
better yet, try freecycle!
Our family loves these sandwich makers.. we recently got one at XS Cargo for $12 - not the best one I've owned but it will do:

Try ordering online from London Drugs. I think they will ship anywhere in Canada. They currently have a Salton sandwich maker for $17.99. Don't know what shipping would be.
If you go to the London Drugs website and search for "sandwich" there are several options to choose from. I have found that LD has one of the best selections for kitchen appliances around.
