Shoppers usually offers 15,000 optimum points after your first purchase (shows up after your first billing period). Because of the birthday celebration they upped this bonus amount to 22,000 points. The SDM Mastercard has really has helped me obtain alot of points. I buy my gift cards with it (get points with purchase and then again when I spend the card) and I use it for the purchase of presciptions (something we don't normally get points on in my area). The points add up quickly

That's a really long time. I have 2 MBNA cards and both came within 1 month of application.

I think that's pretty standard, they just need proof of income.
