Not sure if this has been posted or not, but i have searched the forum and could not find any topic about this..
RCSS (especially BC) is implementing new computer system. You should notice that the cash registers are now computerized. You will see in the recipt, your purchase are categorized into different category (Health, toys, grocery, beauty, etc). It looks pretty neat. The downside of this new system is they cap the total coupon redemption at $9.99 per transaction. Anything above $9.99 will need a Supervisor override. Such a hassle. They used to cap it at $50!!!
For example, you want to redeem 2 of $2 tylenol coupons, 3 of $1 knorr coupons, and 2 of $1.50 Motts Fruitisation coupons = total $10. The system will not let the cashier enter the last coupon as it will exceed $9.99 and the cashier has to call the Supervisor for override (or the cashier will tell you "sorry, can't redeem this coupon. The system won't take it").
I will hate shopping at Stupidstore on the weekends if I have over $10 coupons to redeem! Other customers behind you will stare at you because you're holding up the line!

This is super weird!
I can understand, maybe they've been getting loads of invalid coupons.
I think they should teach their staff how to accept valid coupons instead of implementing this new standard.
Oh well! Thanks for the great update. If you ever get the choice, I hope you dance

Yeah we have it here. It's not a big deal. It's not like anyone marches over like the coupon police once you hit 9.99. lol

It's like that here at Loblaws, Maxi, you need an override after $5, lol so I guess I am used to it. It usually goes pretty fast.

been that way at Atlantic Superstore for a long time. Annoying, but part of the coupon experience.

It's been like this at the Zehrs and RCSS in Windsor, ON for as long as I've been shopping there and using coupons (2+ years). I actually emailed them about the policy in January and was told they'd be raising the limit in the 'near future', but it hasn't been changed yet.

I'm looking for these coupons (and more )
Purina Cat Chow/Friskies ~ El Monteray ~ Blue Buffalo cans
Maxx Scoop ~ Fresh Express ~ Cheemo

All Loblaws company here has this policy all the time. Sometimes I just break the sales in different orders to avoid the overwrite. As, for each coupon above the limit, they need to key in overwrite.

Both Loblaws & RCSS ( not sure about No Frills ) have always had this policy in ON .
The supervisor just comes over & enters a 4 digit pass word for the override & then the cashier enters the rest of the coupons . Yes its annoying when you have to wait 10 - 15 mins just for the supervisor or manager to come over to enter the pass code for the override .

Here, I wonder if it is more a random override... as I have had them call the supervisor that then turned to me and asked if Coke Zero was a Coca Cola product...hmmmm and she is overriding?? but then yesterday, I had $11.50 worth, and no override was required... Either way I figure the customer behind me should learn to watch out for people with stacks of coupons, when picking their lines... if they complain, I will point to customer service and tell the to talk to them about their silly policy!

It's been like that at every loblaw's family store. I just separate all my bills to less than $10 worth so that the supervisor doesn't have to come over.
