Ok! I'm still alive. I scanned through all the posts and I have a few replies, but first I will tell you about my wierd experience. I feel like I am living in the twilight zone, and let me tell you... I'd be sad for anyone in my situation who didn't have medical knowledge, or they'd be scared to death right now.
This is a long story, and I apologize, but I know a lot of you were worried.

WARNING... this story will make you sad, and is mildly medically graphic.

I went to the emergency room, and complain of wierd abdominal pain and fullness. They do some standard bloodwork and start me on an IV drip for my dehydration (I haven't kept anything down in days) Intern comes in and starts examining me, asking me all kinds of wierd questions about my condition and making strange faces as she is doing the exam. I reiterate several times that I am a nurse, and that she should tell me what is going on before I freak out. She goes and gets the head of Obstetrics. I know there is a serious serious problem, since the head of Obstetrics doesn't come down from Maternity to the ER for just anything.

They bring down a portable ultrasound machine. I tell them that my other main concern is that I should have felt fetal movement by now, and have felt NONE. Doctors start looking more concerned, and begin ultrasound. They ask me several times what my Due date is, when my last period was, etc.

We have known for a while now (several weeks) that something is wrong.
My regular doctor could not find fetal heartbeat at my appointment, and scheduled me for an ultrasound. However, because of the major wait times for everyone in the maternity system here, our regular ultrasound wasn't scheduled till next week.

I went to emergency totally prepared to hear the worst possible thing. They all knew I was prepared. I was totally NOT prepared to hear what they told me though.

Apparently, the pregnancy I had been carrying ended naturally several weeks ago. Possibly as long ago as a month. (I had thought this, not a surprise) However, there is an insane amount of swelling and fluid around my uterus and stomach, caused by a severe infection that was a result of the fact that I had something called an "incomplete miscarriage".

So they are telling me what is going on, and that they are going to flush out my uterus, and start treating the infection. Then they notice on the ultrasound that there is a new, viable pregnancy that is about 8-10 weeks along, and they are figuring that is where the sickness is coming from. Soo.. they don't know what to do now. Going in for another ultrasound on friday with a specialist, and proceeding from there.

So. My friends I have totally made my peace with the whole thing. I made it weeks ago, because as most of you can relate.. you just "know" when something isn't right. So, I'm sure you will all be very sad for me, since we shared in this whole thing together, but the ray of hope that I was given was something I never expected. We will see what comes from it all, and just think of me on Friday. I'm on some crazy antibiotics, but other than that I feel much better. I'm going to be around for sure, so if you wanna chat, don't be afraid to chat. I'm feeling ok!

Haunish -- The test they gave you is totally not the test I *thought* they would give you, but should have a similar result.. The one I mentioned was a bit less painful but very wierd. I'm sorry it hurt, they should have given you a numbing agent beforehand, no?

NS -- I hope your foot is feeling better, do you have any other symptoms?? Such a strange thing to happen!

Rose -- Things will get better. If I lived in TO you could totally stay with me

I woke up this am, with this ungodly feeling of dread, and have been trying to get on the cmputer all morning. Everyone else has been worried, but I guess I had my blinders on. But I couldn't shake this feeling this am. Somehow I just new something wasn't right. Oh, lolcat, i am so sorry. My heart is breaking for you and your family. I know how much those twins meant. You are such an awesome mom, wife and friend, I don't know why these things happen to such good people. They say god never gives you more than you can handle, and you sure sound like you are handling things quite well. I am anxious to know what they are going to do with you, and hopefully they can save the new pregnancy. Such a strange thing I never heard of before.

Just remember we luv ya, and we're praying for you and your whole family.

If i'm not around, i'm running the slowest antivirus/spyware thing ever. Had it on since yesterday afternoon and only completed 30,000 files in the same windows temp directory it started in. ARGH.

Good morning everyone

For those of you who are getting a dumping of snow in Ontario this stinks. Today my eldest had his first parks and recs class where I left him on his own for 2hrs to prep him for school in September. Well I couldn't go cuz of the snow. I have no idea how he really would have handled the class even though I have been prepping him for a week that he will play with his friends, mommy will leave but I am coming back. When we watch Timothy Goes to School I tell him see how much fun that is and his mommy is not there. He is super attached to me since I am home all day with them.
Anyways I guess we are stuck inside all day, might bundle em up and clean some snow soon

Snow is getting bad here. Guess we are not going to Scouts or cubs tonight. At least I am not willing to drive. This way the kids can get their baths that they didn't get last night.

DD and her friend wanted to make dinner for us at the friends house last night. They live about 1/2 block away, so that is where we were last night. They made tuna patties. Apparently they were good. I do not eat tuna I get stand the smell or taste, and the DS had Pogos.

After dinner the kids played on thier DS's while me and my friend sat and worked on a puzzel. I lost all track of time until I heard the open song for the smurffs. Oops I then knew it was bed time and no time for baths.

I still can't believe I spent 3 hrs working on a puzzel.

I have worked so long on puzzles..lol , my dh and I like to do the ones where the outside is say a lion and the inside is a mix of pictures of the jungle, we used to do those3D ones all the time as well.
