Thanks for the words. Glad your back tick, sorry about your father.
Calista went to school today, didnt want to send her, some of the cuts are pussing and she has some trouble talking with her mouth butshe didnt want to stay here, so I cleaned as well as I could and warned the teachers. She doesnt want to be in the house right now and wont go anywhere without someone with. Cant say i blame her for not wanting to be here. Just told her to not touch her face and if she wants to come home just phone..teachers I guess did warn kids yesterday not to stare or ask alot of questions.. so I thanked them for that..not that it means thats what the kids will do..hopefully they are nice to her.

awesome that the teachers spoke with the kids. it's good that she went back on her own. she probably wants to get back into her routine. you got an amazing girl there haun. try to encourage her to go places alone, because agoraphobia can be triggered by a traumatic event. not wanting to go somewhere alone, sounds like exactly what i went thru. still have it too.
so just be wary of that.

yeah she is awesome, im hoping this helps shes more worried about going out and people reacting to her...but I hope we can get her to go by herself to her room and stuff, i hope in a few days she is fine when she realizes the cat is indeed gone, she just keeps looking around for the cat

yup, just have her (without her knowing what your doing) go places by herself. start with short distances, going gradually furtheraway.
for instance, if i was in the kitchen, my livingroom is right off the kitchen, so i would send her into the livingroom to grab me something i need. that way she's just out of view but close enuf she still feels safe.
and then you could start sending her to other rooms in the house for stuff, or answering the door/phone if in another room. so that way it's like one quick errand and she's back to her safe zone.
23 years ago, an incident triggered agoraphobia for me. i had to go everywhere with someone almost glued to my hip. say dh and i were in the grocery store. if he went the next isle over, i would have a panic attack and run allover the store looking for him. i couldn't run into a store to grab nothing. he always had to be RIGHT THERE. my cousin was the same way. if she had a dr's appt to go to, had to keep her DD home from school to take with her.
I still have it but now when i go shopping, it's like zoooooooooooom get out of my way, i'll meet you at the cash! but if it's a place i've never been before, someone still has to go with me.
traumatic events seem to fook with the wiring in your brain, so that you never feel quite safe again.
have to add: especially if the event somehow makes it feel like you were responsible for it happening. i blamed myself for mine, and i'm sure your daughter is wondering what she could have done differently too. so that's the other part of it, you get this complex that you are a magnet for this kind of thing.Last edited by NSangel; Tue, Jan 20th, 2009 at 10:12 AM.

Welcome back Tick.
SS to hear about your father.
Love your new siggy. You know you change siggy more often than some people change there underware. (not pointing to anyone NS) LOL
I am happy to hear your DD went to school today. Hopefully thing will be OK.
We went to see Inkheart last night. I got free tickets from the radio station. It was good, it is a kids movie, but I enjoyed it. Took the DD and her friend and the lady across the street. The DS didn't want to see it so he went to the DD's friends place. Sort of like a 2nd home when they are with me. I have had the 2 girls at my place and go looking for Edwin and find out he is over there. The friend even comes over to visit and use the computer when the kids are at their fathers.
We got home at 10pm and then I stayed up playing Winnster (thanks NS for gettting me hooked - LOL) Got up at 4 to do the dishes and make lunches. Is it nap time yet??

am not changing my siggy til spring
and don't blame me about winster..actually i should head over there, i forgot all about it! pf got me (well, ryan) hooked on that pet society thing so i can't get near the computer when he's around. he just wants to sit and make poop.
i so want to see that movie. but ds doesn't. (?) he dint' want to see wall-eye either, but i rented it anyway for his bday. both kids here thought it was funny. i loved it.
silly is not the word. i feel like such a DOLT! i feel so bad that i trashed sobeys and hoping they don't sue me. if they do i'm dragging the hubby down with me as he did not go where i told him to!
well, i fell asleep last night in the chair, bent up like a boomerang, had to holler and get the hubby up. my chest cramped. course my knees were pushed into it in that position.. not doing that again. course i say that til next eps of house comes on.
i need a sofa...
