lolcat, that was our only pet other then my dh's fish..we got her to keep me company as dh goes out of town every couple months for 2 weeks, gets lonely in the evenings, my parents never let me keep a pet, so dh let me get her
we are still looking for a small dog, dd is ok with that. We seen the doctor this afternoon, he was glad with her progress, the wounds in her mouth have more or less healed, and says with vitamin e we shouldnt notice any scars...said he was very worried about infection, something about blood going to brain and getting meningitis? but we dont have to worry about anything ...just glad she heals well
have a good evening everyone

Have you ever thought of a bird as a pet? When I was 4, I got my first pet, a budgie. He used to stay in my doll carriage while I wheeled him all over, from one room to another. He died when I was 8, & Charlie 2 came to live with us, also a budgie. He would say words in 3 languages, & would come, er, fly to me when called. He also used to steal my pen from my hands when I was trying to do my homework. He died when I was 16, & we ended up with a cockatiel. She was a real brat, but she looved my mother. She used to sit on the arm of my mom's chair while she watched TV, demanding to be petted until bedtime, then my mom would tell her to go to bed & she'd go to her cage for the night. She also insisted on having her own place setting when we had dinner - if we forgot, she would steal food from my plate.

Haunish I agree with Andit...why not a bird? I love birds even though my dads was a crazy cockatiel...she was insane but in a fun way. Toilet trained to find newspaper and go and would roam around the house and eat or drink anything in site. The only exception to that was chicken cuz my mom thought it was just wrong to eat her cousin. She was alot of fun. Had her around for 20+yrs and died last winter. My dad refused to throw her out and said he would bury her in the summer. He never did and now he says she will stay in the freezer til he dies and wants her in the casket with him. Weird huh? He truly misses her, did not get rid of her cage yet has denial maybe that she is even gone...who knows...crazy old man

NS I hope it's not too expensive! I just spent $543 on mine. Two wires in the wiring harness shorted, and also killed a sensor, so they had to replaced them. The sensor alone cost $300. It's times like this I really wish I didn't need a car.
Plus I had to get the new tag stickers and drivers license. Very expensive way to start out the new year!
Hope everyone's aches and pains are lessening.
Thanks for the words!
