andit, i wish you were closer! and if you seen my bathroom, you'd know it's too damn small for this retriever and me! i can barely get in and turn around.

we tried training them with treats before, but what they do is this

they will sit, but as soon as you go to give them the treat, they get back up and snatch it before you have a chance to pull your hand away! sneaky beastturds i tell ya.

My bathroom is maybe 4 x 6, & contains toilet, bathtub, sink, vanity, cat carrier, container of wood shavings (in lieu of litter), assorted cat toys, garbage pail, a few dog toys, water dish & food dish...& I can get all 3 of us in there! Of course, I'm dealing with an 8lb cat, a 50lb dog & a, well I don't think I'll mention how many lbs the human is.


For the snatching, try this. Slice up hotdogs (chicken weiners are usually on for $0.99, sometimes as low as $0.79), & lay them on a paper towel & nuke for 1 minute - til they get rubbery. Use them to train, but (& here's the catch) present the treat on the end of a fork. It won't take more than a couple of tries for them to get the idea that snatching gets them in trouble. The other thing you can use is peanut butter on a metal spoon, does the same as the fork.

Mollie dog (lol not ps pet) knows that if she grabs she won't get any, it's really pretty simple to convince them not to grab their treat. Mollie has to do her dance for a treat and take it like a lady. I just kept pulling it back away from her and saying easy until she got the idea she wasn't getting it until she didn't snatch it. Am sure there is a better way to train them but thats who I got her to not bite me when I had a treat for her. My skin breaks very easy from the steroids doesn't take hardly anything lol look at my skin and it'll tear plus being on blood thinners so I bleed a lot when it does tear, I had to teach her not to grab with her treats or toys

Haunish you just reminded me I promised so many of you copies of the Carmen Electra workout dvd's. Ok project for next week to make those copies and send them out. Someone kick me in the butt mid-week to see where I am with those

Ooh, is it too late to ask for a copy? If nothing else it will give the critters another chance to laugh at me. I could always do it in my window & give the construction workers on the roof across the way some entertainment. They do seem to spend an awful lot of time standing around chatting.
