it's just not like you to ignore your people.
fellow p&pers lend me your ears, or i'd prefer $$$$
i have been pretty much on the phone all day trying to get better deals on my tv and cellphone etc.
where to start?
well...i decided to after 10 years give up my star choice satellite and bundle my tv with my internet, home phone, and cell. it's about the same price, BUUUUUT, i get all 10 calling features on my phone. i get calling to us and can for 5c a minute, with no system access fee (which is costing me $6 a month even if i just send a fookin fax).
but the best BEST BEEEEEEEEST THING OF ALL
the highest speed internet is included. and i'm told 60x faster that what i'm on now :D so if you don't see me comming and going that's why. i get all this thurs by noonish
so after i snagged that deal, i thought. hmmmm wonder if i'm eligible for a phone upgrade. prolly not but what have I got to lose?
i go over to rogers (i get 15% off rogers cause i'm with eastlink), and my phone i was looking at before xmas at 108 is now down to 19.99. WOOP WOOP!! but lo and behold, i cannot decide!!! there are really kewl phones going between 30-40 bucks from 200.
so i decide to call up rogers and have a customer service rep who has more knowledge than me (so i thought) help me choose a phone.
when she asked me what i was looking for i started with, well, something around 30-40 cause i'm seeing alot here i need help to pick one..
she started. those are for new activations yadda yadda yadda
well, i explained to her over half a dozen times. I am LOGGED IN, to MY ACCOUNT, i clicked UPGRADE MY PHONE, those are the prices i'm eligible for, with a 3 year RENEWAL.
nope, she argues with me it's only for new activations (w/o bringing up my acct). holy crap, i was pissed. i said, i'm online right now, it says RENEWAL, how the hell can u renew a contract if you haven't gotten one already????
nope, sorry new activation!
ok, lady, at the top it states: "phone pricing displayed below is based on your current plan(s) and upgrade eligibilty"
and that's where customer service told me to go before to see what my price would be to upgrade.
oh no that's new activation!!! let me bring u pyour acct, which phone were u interested in.
THE NOKIA 6086, 19.99 WITH 3 YEAR RENEWAL
so she brings up my acct, and hits upgrade.. um, well the nokia is 69.99 with a 50.00 mail in for a 3 year renewal, so that would make it 19.99
that's what i tried to tell you.
omg no appology nothing. then she tells me there's an ugrade fee of $35 (not mentioned on that page at all), i thanked her and hung up
i called back for a supervisor, they said one would call in an hour. well right when they called i got rogers automated survey thing. was i happy ? NO was my issue resolved? NO how many calls did u make? 2 so far and i'm making another one when i finish your damn survey.
so i call back, i told them what happened. i got a supervisor. i told him, am not trying to cause trouble. i worked in cust serv. i just want someone to take down the info, pass it along to her super so she can be retrained. ok, so he does just that. then he turns around..
and credits my account $25 for my trouble. so now i'm thinking nice. maybe i will get a phone. so he talks me thru the phones, admitting he doesn't know much about the differences in them. that's fine i luv honesty! so i pick a phone, and then i remember what she said about the $35 fee, i asked him. he said, well if there is i'm going to waive it!!! so he did that. awwwsome!!! so now my phone cost me like $5 from $200.
they screwed one thing up tho. i got an eamil after he did the acct over, and both lines were extended to the 3 years, and only one should have beenso i have to beotch tommorrow
then just now starchoice said i had to give 30 days notice! omg their comming thurs to install dig cable!! grr! so i downgrade my service to $20/month and put my notice in, turns out with all the credits on my acct..i owe them $2.86. so worked out ok for eveyrone.
but what a rigamaroo!!!

Sounds like you had a busy day NS. I hate dealing with phone people, I alway get the dumb people who know less than me .

that's wot i was dealing with sheb, a cust service rep that was used to ppl calling up looking for new activation prices on existing accts.
she din't for one second even consider that this time maybe the customer knew what they were talking about.
i told the supervisor, i know it's rare that a customer calls up and knows what they are talking about, but i did! did he get a chuckle out of that.

NS sounds like you had a day yesterday, but persistence paid off--good for you girl!! When I have a day like you had I usually have a terrific headache when I finally get off the phone & then wonder was it really worth all the effort. But of course it always is!!
