i forgot to add: whose on highspeed internet that runs at 15000 kbs?
that's what i'm getting hooked up tommorrow. am just wondering if it will help to search for words that keep missing? (i am on 256 right now)

Is it Rogers NS? Rogers for the most part sucks at least in my area. If everyone around you is on it it will be slow cuz it is shared through cable. I have Bell simply cuz here I found it faster

The first week we lived here had Rogers put in. It was sooo slow. The techs did everything they could to fix it and said oh it must be your machine. No Einstein I have 8 machines in this house and they are all slow...maybe you are slow
So then we moved to Bell...not to burst your bubble NS but I had not so good experiences with them on internet...and their customer service reps...then again they are from Nova Scotia, so that explains it

wtf? i'm a former customer service rep. wait there while i grab my gun.
no rogers highspeed is *thankfully* not available in my area. it's thru eastlink. but eastlink doesn't have cellphones, so they partnered with rogers, so if you are on eastlink bundle, and u take a rogers 3 year contract, you save 15 % on your cell bill. (that's wot i have).
i thought that was a sweet deal.
anyway, i already have (according to the eastlink rep) lowspeed highspeed interent. blah. she wouldn't let me have my phone incl in a bundle even tho it says with any HIGHSPEED PACKAGE, because i have the BASIC highspeed. so she calls it lowspeed highspeed so i couldn't get the free home phone. no i even escalated and told the super she's wacked, din't help.
so it took me YEARS to decide to bundle everything with them incl going from my overpriced satellite to an overpriced digital cable. altho the perks highspeed highspeed internet is included and all home phone calling features, longdistance for 5 c no $6 system access fee that i'm paying now. and all channels free for first 2 months, including those high priced movies.
wot u ask me again?
i just got finished tidying up the room. he has to change my modem doesn't he? to something with a jet engine? so i got this room tidied up incase he has to come upstairs. now dh thinks he has to go to basment to do phone. wtf? i don't think so but if you wann clean up the basement, don't let me get in the way!

rogers is horrible and so is shaw, we are through sasktel and so far so good...rogers we once had nothing work so dh phones them guy shows up comes in the house says its to hot to work and will come back another day..my dh lost it phoned them to come get their stuff then phoned sasktel had 6 guys show up to install sasktel(needed new lines)..so far no complaints..
made it though the day so far with kids home, but holy crap is my head pounding I really hate when they fight over everyhting these days its worse, guess cause we are getting one closer to teens..ughh..miss when they got along

we used to have shaw, ack, eastlink bought them out...
now i never had problems with my internet (that wasn't my comp fault)
but when i had regular cable, it cut out all the time!! so that's why we went satellite, and hoping if the digital is ty i can go back to my sat (and they have to gimme my box back)
on another note, i complained to eastlink about crosstalk on my phone. they insisted it was the cordless or the cellphones. well, then a landline called and i had cross talk on my non cordless. called them up, guy shows up and insisted it wasn't their problem, but looked at line outside the house. does SOMETHING and then no probs since.
i hate when they don't know their stuff and figure it's the customers fault.

NS I used to manage customer service and helpdesks so it irritates me alot when I call and get horrible. I immediately ask for mgmt and never take no for an answer...again I managed those at IBM so I know the tricks. I use the 'I used to manage your competition for 8 yrs' card alot and get perks even when I am not looking for them. I am simply trying to educate the manager of all the chaos going on within their team cuz I know I was grateful when someone would tell me that (although the rep wouldn't as it usually resulted in biyatch Amy to come out and possibly some firing...yes I am that mean). I have zero tolerance for lack of information when I know people are trained and have the knowledge at their fingertips.

that's my take on it too amy. i played the "i was an at&t rep" card when talking to the supervisor. what really helped i think was that i empathized with his customer service reps. i mean, we got paid half decent, but most ppl didn't last 6 months on acct of the crap that gets thrown our way. you still have to suck it up and give ea customer the same quality of customer service.
she (the rep) was in the all customers are lacking knowledge mode that day. am sure she won't make that mistake again.
