Haunish about that wedding, personally if he isnt even that close and gave you a cheesy gift for your wedding I probably would not even go to it as it seems you will be spending alot of your own money to get there (the drive and hotel). If I did go though (maybe forced) why not just put together a little basket of things (freebies maybe) so it costs you nothing. I would think people would consider all the trouble people have to go through to get to the wedding and forget about the actual gift. But that is just me. Or if you still have the iron, time to regift it

Started using my crutches again after thinking about when the pain got worse in my leg and those shooting pains started thru the wound and the only things that changed were my not using the crutches to get around anymore. Anyway since I've been using the crutches the shooting pains have finally stopped zapping that wound yay!!!

As one who has been there done that (couldn't be bothered with crutches & ended up with more issues than I started out with), USE YOUR CRUTCHES!!!
Now, all you need to do is to teach your Mollie dog to drag your crutches over to you. Yes, I know she's small. But she is a dog. & if my rotten cat can drag my cane around (not on command, mind you,. he just decided he didn't want it in his way & dragged it across the carpet!), so can little Mollie.
Even easier, just teach her to bark at you if you walk around without the crutches. Every time you get up & use the crutches, call her over to you & give her a yummy treat. If you walk around without the crutches, no treat. It won't take her long to figure out how wonderful those crutches are & that you had better be using them cause she wants her treat!
Does the wound show any signs of healing or is it too soon? Hope you're feeling better.
I'm off to bed early - gotta get up at the crack of dawn tomorrow. My friend is starting a new job & is nervous, so I'm gonna meet her for coffee to calm her down before she goes in. If anyone can spare a prayer or two to make sure things go smoothly for her, I would appreciate it.
Good night, all.

Ugh.. I have an eye infection! No idea why, but man it is terrible. Light sensitivity, pain in my eye etc. Plus I have to wear my glasses, which I hate. They are so thick, and they hurt my nose.
Enough whining It should get better fast. But I think I'll probably have to wear the glasses for about two weeks. Hubby says it makes me look like a cute librarian.
Amy -- How insanely sweet of you to offer to get me those pods. I don't actually know if we have Williams Sonoma here. The name doesn't sound familiar. Is it a coffee house or a store?
Want me to come over and straighten up the basement for you? I am really really good at throwing men's stuff in the garbage.
Stardreamer -- Andit is so right... when it starts feeling better, don't neglect the crutches. They are doing a big part in your healing.
Tell me though, when is the surgery? Are they just doing a basic skin graft? I must have missed when you were talking about what was going to happen with it.
Haunish -- I would skip the wedding too. Will end up costing you more than you want, and it will probably just be frustrating and awkward. Plus, if you want to have a wedding somewhere like that, you should not expect to get expensive presents from anyone. Period. LOL That kind of stuff frustrates me.
Funn2009 -- We have all gotten great prizes from the site. The point values on things have gotten higher, but I definately think it is worth it to keep up with it at this point.
Racefan -- I am TERRIFIED of those Grudge movies. I had nightmares about that creepy hair for weeks!

lol it was that sound she made that terrified me omg I swear I'd hear it at night when dh wasn't home!
lolcat I see the surgeon Wednesday, said he'd do the surgery when the wound had some nice red meat feel like slapping a steak on it lol so ready to get this over and get it closed. He just said a skin graft I I'm not entirely sure they can use my skin dang stuff is so fragile which is part of why I'm in this mess I tear so easy most people would of ended up with a lil cut maybe or just a bruise. I get a large dose of Kenalog (steroid) once a month and they really do in your skin and blood vessels. Little worried about it last couple days its gotten incredibly red and hot on the skin around it but don't see any pus in the wound. It's itchy but not the wound itself the skin around it is so thinking it may just be the gauze is irritating my skin. I put a bit of hydrocortizone cream not on the wound but on the skin a bit away from the wound it did help so might be all it is. Definitely much hotter though then the skin above the redness. lol Andit can just see lil Mollie draggin my heavy wooden crutch to me begging for a treat! She'd give it a heck of a try but with her sharp lil teeth she'd probably find the rubber stuff is funner to chew on then to drag! Actually she doesn't chew on our stuff anymore did as a puppy but once she grew a bit quit without any problems. She loves stuffed toys but I can leave mine on the floor and she won't touch them once I tell her No Mine!
Haunish I'd skip the wedding too. Personally I think its rather rude of people to have a wedding somewhere so expensive unless they are willing to pay for their guests. I'd much rather have the guests be able to come and not have it cost people money they can't afford and I'd certainly not expect them to buy a present on top of that cost. That's just me though. Far as I'm concerned if your not that close to him skip the wedding and use that money to do something special with your family instead. Far as a gift goes lol I like the gift basket idea. lol I think a gift basket with foods like snacking things for on the honeymoon is a terrific idea too. lmao I know there was times when we just wanted to stay in bed but lol our tummies got us up and out to find food!Last edited by stardreamer7880; Mon, Mar 16th, 2009 at 07:31 AM.

btw, asked dh what he wanted for supper. i donno he says. but i figured that huge sweetpotatoe he dragged home yesterday was a hint. so i thought i'd try my crockpot again, lately am having luck fudging my own recipes. so fingers crossed. i used this recipe: pork stew, that uses beans. (i had a can of navy i subsituted), and i used sweetpotatoes instead of white: http://southernfood.about.com/od/cro...m/r/bl92c9.htm
i don't remember ever using coriander, but it smells good! and i love thyme (which is in recipe), but i think i tripled it..
