My oldest son graduated high school last night. So did my cousin, my niece and a few of my friends kids. I was so proud of them. Was very aggrevated tho. I couldnt use the handicapped parking even tho I have a card. There was suppose to be a form to fill out, but only the rich kids were told about it. I have heart problems and walking and stuff has to be limited. My bil is in a wheel chair and they were told to push him to the top of the stadium and set him somewhere. Finally a friend of ours who works for the college told them they were putting him down front with handicapped people cause it was rediculous and dangerous to put a person in a wheel chair in the stands. Needless to say my heart is bothering me this morning and my legs are killing me. I am so calling board of education and raising hell about this. The government sees a need for us to have a handicapped card. YOU HAVE TO PROVE A NEED. It is not just given out, but Tahlequah HIgh school thinks they are too damn good for government issued cards? Still mad as hell over it.

Do you have a local TV station? They LOVE stories about big bad govt funded places (schools) who do mean things like not letting people in wheelchairs participate in events.

As for filling out a form ahead of time, that's ridiculous. Surely to goodness, they would have enough spots available for those needing them (I can't imagine there being that many eligible people there).

My biggest pet peeve is a local supermarket that has the spots marked off for mothers. Don't get me wrong, I think it's a great idea. But this particular store has put those spots closer than the handicapped spots. They also have very few handicapped spots, compared to the others. I've actually seen folks in wheelchairs park in the spots marked for mothers, to save themselves the distance. Sometimes ya gotta wonder what people are thinking.

Hope you're feeling better soon. I know how awful it feels when you overdo it (been there, oh so many times).
