One more new word for the day:
MADAGASCAR for 100 points, expires on 6/27.
No problem, Amy! Sometimes you just want someone else to say what you are already thinking, so that you know you are doing the right thing. The pus coming out the side of his nail is perfectly normal. My toenails did that for a while before the nails fell off. As long as there is no damage to his nail bed, if his nail falls off it will grow back just as it was.
Ricki -- That looks like eczema to me. I have had eczema off and on my whole life, and I get blisters like that on the palms of my hands about 2x a year. The best thing to do is NOT pop the blisters, no matter how gross it may seem. Put some Calamine lotion or hydrocortisone cream on it. Don't cover it with anything at all.
You might want to consider going to your regular family physician or a walk in clinic. They might give you an oral steroid to help with it, or a cream-based steroid that would help it heal up more quickly and possibly prevent it from coming back. You can also try taking an oral antihisthamine to see if that helps with it at all.. quite often something like that is a skin reaction to an external irritant and an antihisthamine can help it.
Just make sure if you talk to a doctor that you tell him it cropped up on its own, and that you know it isn't from a burn or a contact with chemicals or anything. Tell him you SUSPECT it is eczema, and ask if there is anything they can give you for it "Like a topical steroid cream or something" that way they can't just blow you off

Anyone know much about employment insurance? Is it true if you are laid off and get a severance package you are not going to receive benefits?
