Oh Amy, I did miss you.. I was just thinking today how many days it had been since I answered your pink eye question about the effect of the meds on the baby.
Yes it sucks, but it wasn't even the hospital who contacted me about the arrears, it was the immigration board. You aren't allowed to rack up debt in the country while you are waiting for permanent residency by a sponsor. That is the reason that we got the mortgage in my husband's name.
I WAS afraid that they'd turn me away at the hospital, but the Labor and Delivery nurses who saw me last week said there is no way they would ever turn away a woman in pregnancy distress and especially not one who was in labor. So that makes us all breathe a sigh of relief, since I am ULTRA fast labor.. I'd hate to have to drive to a hospital in St. Thomas or further. Even today it feels like the baby is right about to fall out of me, that is how I felt with Monet for the last 3 weeks of my pregnancy. They took out my cerclage, and that made it feel way worse! Ugh. I hope your pregnancy goes better than mine has been
Let me tell you... I was 37 weeks along with Monet, and I *KNEW* she was huge, and the doctor refused to induce me. I had complete numbness in one of my legs, because she was putting so much pressure on my lower limbs. I induced myself with Castor oil. It was terrible, but my labor was super quick, and she turned out to be just below 10 lbs. I shudder to think how big she would have been if I'd gone 3 more weeks.
Like you said, I looked full-term at 30 weeks, everyone kept asking me "Due any day now, eh?" And I'd just say yes so they wouldn't be horrified for me. LOL
I hope for your sake that your girl isn't as big as your DS was.. was your labor with him very long?

My labour wasn't that long at all. It was about 4 hours start to finish (after four hours of waiting for the first round of cervical gel to work lol). Most of the labour was 45 min of pushing (because I pushed through some cervix). That, and I was stoned from the gas, so it made it seem like it went that much faster.
This one should go much faster since my body only went through this about a year and a half ago (by the time I'm due). With DS, after the doctor induced me, he wouldn't let us go home because he didn't want us driving in the freezing rain that was expected that night.SwagBucks.com - the premiere digital dollar. I have read in many medical journals that labors within 2 years of one another the second is tyically much quicker and easier! My first and second were a bit more than 2 years apart, and it was definately true. Monet came so quick that her face was black and blue for a week after, from how fast she came.
You really aren't that far off! My first baby felt like she took forever to arrive, but the second and third are faster than I can get things done, almost! I'm still sorting out the newborn things for this one, and we don't have a name picked out yet!!

I hear you on the labour...my first was 19 hours, my second was about 4 hours and my third was 2.5 hours....I would much prefer the longer labour as you have longer to go through your stages. My last 2 were 11 mths apart.

At least you have newborn stuff!! I have one outfit, but I'm expecting bins full from a friend of mine. We skip the whole newborn stage, though, and go right to 3 month old clothes, in which I usually have to switch over after about a month or so to 6 month. We use cotton diapers to start with, so we need to be a size bigger anyways. It helps cut costs, anyways.
Oh, well. It happens when it happens. I'm going to have a monster child, and I just have to accept that. I went 13 days over with DS, so I am expecting the same with this one (my mom went overdue with both my brother and I as well).
I found last week was the first week I really started having problems moving around easily - getting off of couches is a blast!! I don't sit in them unless someone is around to help me up. I find I'm winded a lot easier than normal, but I equate that to the baby's position.
I just can't wait for her to come.
No name yet?!? At all??? We had three or four picked out with DS, but decided to wait until he was born to actually pick one. We've had our little girl's name picked out since we were pregnant with DS (back-up, just in case he wasn't a boy ). We have a back-up boy's name for this one as well, but I'm confident it's a girl!!SwagBucks.com - the premiere digital dollar. Earn SwagBucks to redeem for great prizes. Amazon.ca are available here!
