I have a beef to tell you all. We bought a used minivan from a GM dealership at the beginning of the month, Oct 8 to be exact Anyways it appears that the seat warmer on the drivers side does not work so I have been trying to get in touch with the dealership but no answer and no voicemail or anything...so I finally called GM HQ today to find out a few days after I bought the van they closed that dealership. What bugs me is that the sales guy told me if you have any problems no worries just bring it in and we will fix it. I know the seat warmer is not a big deal but hey it should have been working and it isn't, its their defect no?
So GM customer service told me that I could take it to another dealership, they will diagnose the problem and determine if they will pay for the repairs or not. Here is the kicker...once they diagnose they will decide who pays which means in the end I may have to pay $100 for the diagnosis...that is crap. I asked to escalate the call, why is this even remotely my problem? Yes my car is not under warranty because it was over the mileage but for f sakes I just bought the car a few weeks ago and it was never working.
So the rep said she would get a manager to call me back, it's almost 5pm here and nothing. What I did was googled the President of GM Canada and found his name along with 2 other VP's and their email addresses and emailed them my concern.
Within 2 hrs I got a phone call from an administrative assistant asking me to email the sales contract and they will try to help. So here is to hoping they will do something for me or I might be in touch with the media on this.
So that is my rant for the day. Hope everyone has a good day

Honestly, in this sort of situation its best to get everything in writing. When we bought mine back in April the guy said I got x number of oil changes my dad made him write it down and sign it. A few months later I go and they said no I had to pay for it I pulled the paper out and they honoured it. Even contacting head office they will put you in circles.

Amy, I hope that you get it all sorted out with your van.

That is why I like living where I do - in a nice small community. We know the dealer where we buy our vehicles, and we are close friends with one of the salespeople there, so we never have any issues when it comes to our vehicles.
