Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Just got back from the neighbors for our Saturday night feast and it was YUMMY! My spaghetti sauce turned out to be totally awesome! They loved it! The meatballs were SO tender! I had it in the crockpot for 6 hours and the taste was so super! I had a huge plateful! They all went for seconds except me! I can barely finish my plate! I don't know how they do it! Then I waited about 45 minutes and had a small piece of blackforest cake and it was really yummy too! I'm TOO full now!
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Tomorrow we are cooking a boiled dinner at home for me and the hubby. The will be delicious as well
Be well everyone!

I don't have a recipe!! lol I throw my hamburger in a bowl, add salt, pepper and diced onions. I roll them in a ball and then I put them in a frying pan and fry them all the way around so the outside will be firm and stay together. Then I added them to all the other stuff I had for the spaghetti in the crock pot and simmered for 6 hours. I had mushrooms, green peppers, celery, diced tomatoes, onions, tomatoe paste, tomatoe sauce, tomatoe soup and I add a few spices then add about 1/4 cup of brown sugar so it won't be so tomatoe tasty. It's pretty basic really
And voila! Spaghetti a la Petite Femme!
Sorry to hear about the brother-in-law NSangel
So you can take me off your list now NSI've revealed my secret spaghetti sauce recipe! I don't normally cook them in the crockpot but this time I did because the meatballs were for the spaghetti sauce. I made some honey garlic ones the other day and threw them in the oven in the sauce instead of the crockpot. They were very moist too. Sometimes I add an egg to the hamburger too but this time I didn't...

my meatballs never turn out right. esp in the slowcooker. they usally fall apart. and when i buy the frozen ones, those are mushy. and i can never get my spaghetti sauce right. i know what you mean by too tomatoey. the soup will do that. nice touch offsetting it with br sugar. so tommorrow going to my friends for supper. DH (damn hubby) is supposed to help me in the am to make a bluberry buckle. i'll have to double or triple the recipe. hope it turns out. have to use froz blueberries. going to be nuts here tommorrow. i have to take ryan to church for 11 am, make the blueberry buckle, pick up my mom (half an hour a way, one way) and go to dinner for 4pm. it's going to be rushed i know it. argh.

dh and I enjoy the holidays to ourselves. We don't bother with anything special. There's just the 2 of us, so its whatever we want for meals, sometimes, we each eat different meals. I do a lot of crock pot too, usually before thickening sauces I throw the cooked meal into the freezer and after unthawing thicken up for the meal. (Its the only way I can keep up with his appetite! lol) Prizes are getting costly in points these days, I want to get a dvd set when it comes up, but at this rate, everytime I figure I have enough saved up they go raise the # of points needed for a set (ughhhhhh) Hoping to give set to him for xmas.

so our dinner evening ended early with the lovely inlaws. it was hosted at hubbys cousin's place and thankfully we never saw the inlaws. they are supposed to make the turkey and come. we were all invited for 4pm but no one is ever on time. so we show up at 5ish and his brother and wife and daughter are the only ones there. i was ready to turn around then, but ok fine for hubby's sake lets go in. we get there and they said oh we just called them and the turkey needs another 3hrs...gotta be friggin kidding me. i was so angry then and with tension with my hubby and his bro thick enough to cut with a knife, we snacked on a few things, i cut my own pumpkin cheesecake we ate a slice and left by 7.30 and said we had to go out. the kids didnt want to go home but we took them to the mcd's down the street and let them play and ate fries there
i was so angry, friggin people have no shame...then my sil is calling hubby the whole ride home, why did u leave were coming soon, were on our way...you friggin bought a house an hr away we are not waiting for a stupid bird...and frankly i have no thanks to give when it comes to you people...thats what i wanted to say. we were really hoping this weekend dinner would fix things between the families, i think it just made things worse. so finally his sister says ok come over on monday for lunch then so amy can see the house and we can see the kids. do u think i care to see this house of yours? if u wanted to see the kids u could have come over in the last 4months but instead you choose to do your own thing and forget you have family here.
this just helped us decide they won't see us for xmas either.

oh and the lovely people who begged my husband for the downpayment on their house and hated him for not giving any money suddenly can afford a mansion and bought all new furniture for every room and now i hear they bought new appliances...wtf is going on with this world? people are starving and losing jobs over this economic crunch and they are spending on credit like there is no tomorrow. the word hate is entering my vocabulary...its not that im jealous...im just angry that they made it such a big deal and didnt speak to my husband for months for not lending them money now they are spending on a line of credit...so why not put that down on the house instead? or better yet why not get a regular mortgage of like 25 yrs instead 40? they will be long dead before its paid off, i dont get people
its a shame my kids will never really know their other grandparents and their filipino heritage, but i cannot expose my kids to these selfish people and thankfully my husband sees it and agrees.
