I thought it was just me because I have 3!!! I ABSOLUTELY need my "ME" time (so does hubby). On weekends, we usually give each other one or two breaks (the other person looking after the kids), sometimes with the help of Dora (I don't care what people/ books/ theory says about TV - it is my lifeline!!!). Even 15 mins staying in my room (browsing/ tidying up etc) helps restore my sanity. And I think I am a better/ more patient mom for it.
I guess the answer is, no it is not strange. That's why I enjoy going back to work. I guess I am not one of those "mother earth" type. My hats off to all those stay on home - I know I can't do it!
What about your plan of getting a part-time nanny/ sending him to daycare part-time? That could buy you some sanity time.
Welcome to Sick Kids - weekends are especially worse! Thankfully every time we bring my daughter in, we call her Dr ahead so we get whisked in right away (she is usually already on O2 and doing poorly by the time we bring her in).
What (unusual) colour is his poo? Are you feeding him different formula/ food? Is there anything that has changed in his diet? Just remember, every time you make changes to his diet (proportion of breastmilk/ formula, introduction of solid/ new foods etc) his poo will change because essentially you are adding new thing to his digestive tract. As long as it is normal in consistency (not runny/ does not smell), he is okay.
Glad to hear Ethan is fine, though.
