There's iron in almost everything... in trace amounts. Those there's nothing to worry about. It's the high iron foods that are to be avoided. Potatos are fine.
Liver, kidneys, any internal organs she can't eat. Technically no meat but you need SOME so white meats are allowed 3x a week. High iron veggies of course are also a no-no even if it's a different type of iron.
It's more complicated than trying to eat gluten free. GF diets are simple... no gluten and you know the foods that contain it. Pasta bread etc... when it comes to iron, because there is more than one type of iron it gets wonky at times.
The repercussions are more severe too. It doesn't make you feel ill if you eat it on the spot. You if you eat gluten you'll feel like crap within an hour of eating it. With iron it can not have any symptoms at all... most common is feeling tired, run down. If you go on and keep eating it... well - you can die.
Yep, thats why unlike Vee's dad I will have blood drawn off :( Even though I cry like a baby at needles
and yeah, potatoes are better than enriched pastas for me and I do drink a pile of tea
Oh I know there are cereals, I have the list too but they all taste like cardboard, not helped by the fact that I hate sugar on cereal so I cant even disguise the taste
Mind you... they are to be eaten in small quantities and infrequently. There's nothing out there you can eat daily
2 more blood draws and my levels should be back down anyway
Gluten is not only in pasta and bread its in sauces, yogurt, drinks, etc...its not only what products I learned that very quickly lol soy sauce is a form of gluten...who knew!
But yeah I bet avoiding iron is very very hard
littleman is just howling laughing in the other room
zomg i love that sound
is he watching tv?
You know, if I had not lived in the UK making my blood un-usable, some anemic patient could have my blood
