small towns are great. :) i grew up in a rural community although not as remote as your littlemoe. but our crescent of about 15 houses was in the country 20 min from the town with the stores. i loved it as a kid. C and i actually couldn't stop talking about how badly we'd like to move there one day.
Moe, the town I lived in was 1,100 - but maybe it was more 'fishbowl' feeling for me since I was the new teacher in town, single, etc.
I actually feel there should be some sort of a handbook for people who move from the city to a town - for example, people would say 'come on over' - just an open invite - and of course, I wouldn't - how I grew up, you wait for a specific invitation. In that town, that was like an insult - you just stopped over, anytime... if you didn't they thought you were being snotty...
