No receipt product return to CT?

Hi there!

I recently won a Cuisinart espresso maker as part of an audience prize for a TV show (Steven and Chris - airs December 18th!).

I have absolutely no use for this.

I've been trying to sell it on kijiji, but no takers.

I see that Canadian Tire sells the same one. I've been wondering about maybe taking it there after Christmas to see if I can do a no receipt return (most likely for store credit).

Has anyone done this before? I'm not completely sure I'll try, as I do think it may be unethical to return it to a store without knowing where it actually came from. But it is brand new, never opened.

Canadian Tire returns are horrible even WITH a receipt! I don't even bother buying anything there that I may remotely return.

Maybe try regifting it to someone for Xmas?

BTW isn't being in the Steven and Chris audience awesome??

I'd suggest you see if there's someone in your neighbourhood that likes espresso and gift the machine freely. Or find a retirement home or office eager to receive it.

I've checked around - no one I know wants the espresso machine (I even asked at the retirement home I take our dog to). I have no one to gift it to.

Guess I'll just see if anyone will buy it off kijiji.

And yep, I did enjoy being on the Steven and Chris show! Unfortunately I didn't get to see much of it, as I had a tall guy sitting right in front of me, and the cameras were always in front of Steven and Chris when they were taping. They also taped a second show on the day we went, so Steven and Chris didn't stop to chat with us after the taping either.
