I know what the word is, same as you, and still can't get over seeing it all over in print on this site here... it's just a word we don't use where I'm from, like the 'sl--' word, we just wouldn't use it.
(Patty, don't be mad... :) )

Being a skank has never been so wonderful! lol :)
Funny think is if you look in the dictionary the first thing that comes up for skank has nothing to do with what we all believe it to mean...lol
Skank:
–verb (used without object)
Slang . to dance rhythmically in a loose-limbed manner
But it also means other things.
Well, cool, then - if you are all dancers, I have no problem with that!!!

A word is just a word, especially when it also has a not so scandalous meaning.
My favourite non-swear word these days is PRIG.
From the Free Dictionary:
prig<SCRIPT>play_w2("P0555600")</SCRIPT> (prhttp://img.tfd.com/hm/GIF/ibreve.gifg)
n.1. A person who demonstrates an exaggerated conformity or propriety, especially in an irritatingly arrogant or smug manner.
2. Chiefly British A petty thief or pickpocket.
It's quite entertaining to see the looks on people's faces when the term is applied correctly. :P
I had to explain to bf when I got my Skank pin the other day. BAHAHAHA!
hahahaha and there I was worrying about the people with kids opening them in front of their kids
my bf's all into it and has probs calling us all skanks LOL

thank you all for clearing things up :)
"skanking" was what we used to call dancing to Ska/punk music when i was in high school... and im only 24 so it still means dancing too...
