So what's the difference in someone posting a referral code and you saying, "just pm for a code"?

There is no difference. The only difference is, it's more work for a noob to pm you, wait, get a code from you, and then sign up versus just inputting the referring code.

You're on a forum for deal hunters/frugal people. Yet, you think these people are tacky for posting a referral code? Who cares, this whole thread is about giving people the opportunity to cash in on a items that we already have the opportunity to.

Yes, totally. It's easier to look for a code that's been posted. Tackiness has no role here, it's about efficiency. People just need a code to get in, if it benefits the other person then it's a win/win situation. Don't see the problem here.

There was a difference before... I don't know if stella changed it. If you PM someone your e-mail address for an invite, and they use that e-mail to invite you (instead of inviting themselves and giving you the code), the new account initially gets a more points (used to be 100... now it's 10 I believe) if signed up with the invited e-mail.
