Yes, last night Nov. 1st we saw our first Christmas commercial on TV.
Canadian Tire "Happy Holidays" with your Christmas trees, lights and the family all having a wonderful time that is suppose to happen at Christmas time.
I would like to know why these retailers seem to think that Bombarding us with Christmas commercials almost 2 months before the big day is necessary.
I for one get so tired of it all by the time Christmas does come due to their efforts.
The retailers are going to be singing Deck the Halls within the next week.
Call me scrooge but I find it a real annoyance. This thread is currently associated with: Canadian TireTaking my wife out for dinner Friday night.

I used to get really angry when working at Loblaws from the Christmas music. I get the same way listening to `easy rock` and most popular music radio stations though. Lady Gaga coming on the radio makes me so angry too. Ugh, so effing overplayed.

Yesterday I passed by CT and was looking for after Halloween specials and they had already packed it up(they keep it for next year so no SALES!) and the xmas stuff was ebing put out faster than a speeding bullet.
Heck it's the same with back to school starting in July. They want to dictate how you shop plain and simple.

Shoppers Drug Mart in my city has Halloween sales.Zellers has no Halloween just pre Halloween prices.Walmart had tons of costumes 50%.Canadian Tire I guess doesn't want to lose money putting Halloween stuff on sale.My Mum worked for a store where they put away Christmas chocolate away for Valentine's Day.

I totally agree with you, what is with retailers getting holiday (any holiday actually) stuff out on the shelves MONTHS early. By Jan 1, Valentines Day stuff starts appearing, then right into St. Paticks day, etc. I know we all like to be prepared but I think 2 months is too much! I usually go on "ignore" mode, and avoid all aisles that contain seasonal stuff, I am ready when I AM READY. Yes, I may buy presents year round, but it does feel like the retailers are beating us with a stick.

I think Canada should pass a law that forbids ANY Christmas advertising until AFTER Remembrance Day...I think it is an insult to those who fought for our freedom and our country, I think it is extremely disrespectful and I refuse to shop anywhere that does this.
