Hello fellow SC'ers, I have a question and I'm hoping someone will have an answer for me. DH and I are 'finally' getting a dishwasher this year (it's our Christmas present to each other). I'm curious to know whether there are better deals to be had by simply buying a store brand detergent or go with a name brand, matching sales and coupons. What are some good quality name brands, and what are some good quality store brands that you can recommend? Thank you for any suggestions!

DH and I do the same thing at Christmas, we'll generally buy a major household thing for ourselves.

In dishwasher detergent, I've found that the name brand ones more often go on sale and have coupons. And when it goes on sale for a really good deal and I have coupons, I buy a bunch to do us for a few months.

My dishwasher doesnt clean as well with some brands of soap. I gave all my electrosol away to my mom. Too bad...as I was getting that free/nearly free.
Now I stick to Cascade or almost any brand of powder detergent. Even the no-name stuff works in mine, but I recieved some Cascade freebies, and coupons so its cheaper to use that right now. Have about 2 months supply.
The gel pacs dont work well in my mom's dishwasher.
