    (sorry for my english) normaly you should put a money on your RRSP because you suppose to have a minimum amount to remburs your RRSP and if you don't do it that can be consider for an incom on your incom tax report. You can check with your counseller at you bank...

    That's only if you've previously borrowed from your RRSP for either the LLP or HBP and you need to repay it.

    There's no requirement to ever contribute to an RRSP if you've never borrowed from it.
