SuperStore: Scan your own coupons

I was at the SuperStore tonight. They are renovating the place big time including the self-serve checkouts. I had a FPC for Bistro and called over the supervisor who told me that we will be going to scan our own coupons very soon.

I am not sure how it will work and if we will need to call the supervisor to check them over. Will keep you posted when I find out.

There have been self-checkouts here for a long time. There is always one clerk assigned to them. After using the coupons the machine always states to hand all coupons to that attendant. I have noticed many times that the bar code does not scan properly and the clerk has to assist.

What I like with self-checkouts is that I can use them without any regards to per customer limits. If the limit for a particular item is four I can simply pay for them and then continue with my purchases and buy another four.

we are often there...do you mean scan their own "coupon zone" coupons or manufacturer's coupons?...

do you have to give the cashier your coupons?...and do they have to look over the items before checking out?

over here @ the self serve...unless it is a superstore bar code coupon...ANYTHING will be checked by the cashier who oversees that area.

we just got them here at our new RCSS. it's awesome. you put all of your own coupons in (manufacturers, coupon zone, gas bar) and then hand them to the cashier. my superstore is brand new, so i don't know if the cashiers are too, but they've let me stack my prime chicken coupons twice now. box of chicken for $3.00! yay!

At Superstore and Extra-Foods Self-Checkout, after scanning all items I select 'Finish and Pay'. Coupons are listed among payment options, so I select this. Then you select whether it's store or manufacture coupon. I enter the exact amount of each coupon and then when done the screen prompts me to give all coupons to the attendant. After I hand over the coupons I have to wait until she approves it from her screen. They never check the bags, just go based on what was scanned.

I find it much easier than going to an actual cashier.

At Safeway and Wal-Mart Self-Checkout the Attendants have to Scan the Coupons in for you. Safeway doesn't check your bags, but Wal-mart makes me pull everything out and show them.
