Is Optimum Plus Status worth it?

I agree with other posters that have said it's not worth going out of your way to reach Plus status.

I reached Plus last October and have never received anything special because of it (No samples, No freebies, No BP coupons).

The only perk I received was the 10,000 kick back when I redeemed my points back in May but now that there aren't any kickbacks I really can't see the point in getting Plus status. JMHO.

Occassionally there are BP/coupons for plus members only. As I recall, about once a month. They are not terrific offers but BP just the same.

Wow, lucky you! Maybe a glitch in the system? I only redeemed once at the top level while not a Plus member but I didn't get a kickback then. I really pushed to achieve plus status last year so that I would get the kickback this year and then they took it away. lol. At least I got one kickback in for my troubles. Maybe SDM just didn't like me.

I need 7000 points to reach plus status... I have an 8000 BP coupon to use I got for my b-day... I have to ask, should I? I really don't need anything, but if they sell just the wii remotes then I might go out and get it over with...

edit: nvm, i forgot you needed regular points... no way am I spending 700$ to reach that level. I don't have enough coupons for that! lol, oh well

Meggies...I'm in the same boat. I need 1700 points before Dec 31 to reach optimum. I bit the bullet this morning and picked up $150 in gift cards and a few other small items. The receipt was like 2 feet long with congratulations on it (lol).

I figured I would be kicking myself next year if some cool promos come up.

No, you can only collect Optimum Points on SDM Gift Cards (unless they have a bonus points offer going on, and even then it wouldn't count towards plus status)

I was told by a cashier that I couldn't buy another gift card with a shoppers gc...it didnt make sense to me but she declined me.... anyone else have this problem??
