I watched the show too, but one thing people have to realize in Canada is that coupons do not go as far as they do in the States. In the States they have 'double coupon' days at some stores, and more access to coupons as well, as you saw services where you can even order them. So it does make it much harder for us Canucks to get those kind of extreme deals, haha.
Although it is possible to save thousands of dollars as you can see by looking at some of the people on this site.
Start of getting familiar with the site and reading the forums which will teach you basic skills and once you learn the basics the other stuff will come naturally. There are many different places to collect coupons so start joining the coupon websites and watching for the coupon books that come out with the newspaper, as well as coupons you can pick up in the aisles of the stores.
If you have questions other members are very friendly and people seem quick to give advice to everyone

thanks to Terry for the tip i went out tonite to the manning drive SW and found some kraft sizzling $2 coupon. Then went to superstore, combined with their instore coupons and got 2 packages of kraft sizzling for $0.46/each
i wanted to try the other 2 flavours (ceasar and mediterrean) but they all have 2010 expiry dates and i picked up 10 bottles and they all expired.

This is a great idea for a thread. When i went shopping @ sobeys on Saturday the only stinkin coupon I could find was the splenda foldout.
I am very new to couponing so any local help is amazing!

I was just thinking today it would be SO nice to have a coupon group for the city of Edmonton and now look what I find!!! Great idea.
I don't have any new things to add, but I was thinking about wether or not it would be possible for us to be "extreme couponers" like the TLC show. I was watching them saving $250+ on their grocery bills in one sitting and I had to wonder 2 things: 1) how healthy are they eating? Seriously, have you ever gotten fresh chicken breasts for free (not frozen like Superstore will sometimes give away with x amount of $ spent) OR fresh fruit and veggies for free?, 2) Obviously in Canada, we don't have access to the same amount of coupons that they get in the States? We surely don't have a coupon section in our paper every Sunday...too bad
This is a nice thread. Hopefully I will be able to add to it soon!Last edited by kissjo; Tue, Jan 25th, 2011 at 04:53 PM.
