guessing not many people know his real name was,,,,
dick cox.
When Sargent and comic Stanley Myron Handelman were on The Merv Griffin Show in 1975, the comic asked Sargent why he had changed his birth name from Cox. Sargent said wryly, "No one would have taken Dick Cox seriously".

Director Jokes He Got Monkey Addicted to Cigarettes, Media Falls for It

Late last week The Hangover Part II director Todd Phillips sparked a firestorm with the following quote to Total Film Magazine:
"I wanted the monkey to smoke so we had to train her to. Now I have PETA after me because the monkey's become addicted to cigarettes. She was just shooting Cameron Crowe's movie We Bought A Zoo. And the monkey won't stop smoking...".
Not surprisingly, both the blogosphere and mainstream news sites jumped on the story, with animal lovers everywhere voicing their outrage (luckily we were too busy watching hockey over the weekend we were waiting for the story to be verified so we didn't report it).
Of course, there were a number of reasons to take the story with a grain of salt right off the bat. First, it seemed unlikely that a monkey of such obvious skill and comedic talent (she also starred in Night at the Museum) would be subjected to the health risks of smoking. Second, monkeys lack the opposable thumbs needed to properly use a lighter.
And now Phillips has indeed confirmed that the whole thing was a joke that everybody fell for, telling Movieline the following:
"When you are doing press for a film, it tends to get repetitive, lots of the same questions over and over. Sometimes I like to mix it up with the journalists. Obviously, the monkey in the film NEVER smoked a single cigarette. There are people on set whose sole job is to protect that monkey. Even if I wanted her to smoke it wouldn’t be allowed. By the way, she also appears to do cocaine in the movie, but I guarantee you that she didn’t do that either (I can’t, however, comment on Ken Jeong’s cocaine use in the film)."
This isn't the first time the monkey has generated free publicity controversy for the film. Last week the movie's first trailer was pulled from theatres after complaints were lodged against the scene in which the monkey simulates a sex act on a water bottle.
