Another Thurs Trip an Hour gone, I guess I'll try again next hour. But in the meatime, I thought I'd share an interesting observation I've been working on. We all know and listen to Kim Mitchell Q's great afternoon DJ. And yes he is a Canadian Rock icon, entertains with DIWIWT, and enlightens with Guitar Lessons. BUT to me it always seemed that Kim and Max Webster gets a lot of airplay on Q. Just how much...well I decided to look at the numbers...

From Q Playlist over last week, Feb 3-Feb 9, 2011 a total of 1792 songs played.

(My unaudited findings) Groups/Artists with the Highest Frequency of Songs Played:

KM 14 songs, Max Webster 15 songs. Combined airplay seems high, considering KM-MW beat heavies like the Doors, Who, Queen, Aerosmith, Jimi, Eagles, Springsteen etc.

Here's another interesting find on Q airplay frequency over the same week:
KM 14 vs. solo work by the Beatles:
McCartney 6, Lennon 6, Harrison 2, Starr 1 = Total 15

Granted these numbers are a select point in time and frequency could change daily, weekly. But IMO KM-MW songs are good but IMHO they're not Top 20. So other than I've got some time on my hands, what are your thoughts?

I like Kim Mitchell/Max Webster a lot...good rockin' tunes that set your foot a-tappin'!!!...and personally, I don't really care about top 20 anything...I just like what I like..TR

An appellate court upheld a 37-month federal prison sentence that was handed to Ronald Isley of The Isley Brothers for income tax evasion. The three-judge panel rejected the 66-year-old R&B singer's argument that his sentence was unreasonable due to his age, poor health and lack of proof that the federal prison system can provide him adequate health care.

Estelle Bennett, one of The Ronettes, the singing trio whose 1963 hit "Be My Baby" epitomized the famed "wall of sound" technique of its producer, Phil Spector, was found dead in her Englewood, New Jersey apartment. She was 67.
