I signed up for a PC Mastercard a few weeks back (while on a trip to RCSS) & when I signed up I was offered either a FREE box of PC Chocolate Chunk Cookies OR a FREE PC grocery bag!

As we have about 20 shopping bags I went for the cookies!

Then when I received my Mastercard in the mail this week I got 4 coupons for 5000 PC points each with no min purchase necessary!!!!

This weekend I used the coupons at Loblaws & NF and now I have $20 worth of groceries in the bank - but I won't be redeeming them until later on when I can get maybe $40 or 60$!!!

To anyone who does NOT have a PC Mastercard - it's basically $20 free groceries - I'd suggest you get on that now!!!

it's definitely great! the best part is when you are cashing out at any NF/RCSS/Loblaws you don't swipe/stick your card in/give it to the cashier - you just tap it on a scanner & it goes through - no signing no nothing! so easy!

you can also redeem any gift cards that they sell...I have redeemed for best buy, home depot and petro canada over the past few years. For me it is a better return rewards over the SDM credit card where you cannot redeem for gift cards. Currently have over $300 in points accumulated since last summer! (will cash in for Petro Canada GC before going on summer vacation)

Just don't do what I did and forget about the coupons and then they were expired when I went to use them. The $20 free groceries signage was a little deceiving as you get the 4 coupons that you have to use on 4 separate trips and you have to make a purchase to use them. I definitely prefer my Shoppers card - I received 15,000 points after my first transaction (I think the bonus offer may even be more now) which to me are worth over $30 because I wait for the bonus redemption days. Shoppers has 20x points events all the time, PC ones are few and far between.

Ya. I got the Shoppers MC last year but I never use it as my Visa gives me better cash back - but as I may be going to law school next year, I wanted to get this which forces me to use my savings for food lol

ShopoholicAnonymous, if you are looking for a way to spend $20, you can wait until the President's Choice long distance 'phone cards go on sale. Once or twice a year, the $20 'phone cards give 50% more minutes. So you are getting $30 worth of calls for $20.

That's when I give them to senior citizens as gifts. Some seniors don't like the Internet, but love to keep in touch with family/grandkids by telephone. I have become very popular with my senior citizen relatives, because of the PC 'phone cards.
    Just a suggestion.

Shwa Girl - I really like that gift card for seniors idea. I never thought of that.
Can you explain how to earn the PC points?
How many points do you get for each dollar spent?
And when redeeming them, how many points get how much in groceries?

Thanks. I've been comparing different cards to determine what is best for my spending habits.

I don't know what is the end of the SDM MC, I got the card and used it all the time at SDM but recently when I redeemed for the $100 shopping spree at the bottom it said adjustment -xxxxx of MC so am I gonna owe them later to MC when I redeem all of my points plus the 20x doesn't count for MC just the regular points. I have checked few times. I actually will closed my account...

If u do not buy any pc product, do not open that account. cause it is work out 1% rebate. for $20, it is basicly any time u open u will get $20, and sometime they offer $30 or $40 to open account, and the worth thing is u need minm $20 for redeem. u can not redeem at $10 point. the card is suck.

I have had a PC Mastercard for a few years. Got the 20 dollars in groceries right away, but found it to be really hard to earn more free groceries. If you have a large family and use your card a great deal, it may be worth it, but for the two of us here, I find the Club Sobeys card much better. Since they started their rewards program I have to date, 150.00 dollars in free groceries, while the PC Mastercard only gave me 50.00 in free groceries in that same time frame.
I still have the PC card but rarely use it, even use my Club Sobeys at Superstore.
I don't know...... just my experience....
