Amy, you look beautiful! What an inspirational thread.
You are awesome! Thank you so much for this thread and the book/link recommendations. You look fantastic, and I'll bet you feel that way, too! Did you/do you work out as well to help lose the weight?

Junerose...if you really cant have eggs in the morning...then I would do cold cuts, or kiebossa with cheese....I do that sometimes, just fill up a big freezer bag with bonne bells, cheddar and whatever cold cuts I have...
and with your coffee...you can have it...but it has to be with sweetener, and cream...not milk...milk is full of carbs and cream is carb free.
Another important fact is to steer clear of fat free of light products. Have full fat cheese....full fat salad dressing...anything light is usually filled with sugar to compensate for the lack of fat.
Fat free does not necessarily mean healthier for you when it comes to this diet, its the opposite.
I go through a package of big brie, every week. You cant do that if your doing a low fat diet....eat full fat everything, no fruits...just cheese, eggs and milk with about 2 cups of salad a day....with full fat dressing.
WOWZA - this is so inspiring and helpful!
now, i just want to be clear here...i was NOT on a no carb diet, but a LOW carb diet. i would say i ate about 20-30 grams of carb per day during my weightloss, almost entirely from low carb veggies.
is whole wheat better than white? somewhat. they're higher in fibre but most products, not by much. they also affect your blood sugar quite negatively as do whites.
did i exercise? no. it's not something i endorse, but for me i didn't want to start a routine i could never and would never keep up with. i would sooner never eat another morsel of food then go to a gym! i do go on the odd walk, but really only cause i have to get somewhere.
Veggies have carbs??
Clearly I am very uneducated about food!
yep! they sure do! a cup of broccoli for example is about 7 net carbs. a head of iceburg lettuce is about 6 carbs...etc.
"veggies" like corn (which really is a grain), carrots, peas and beets, just name a few, are pretty carby.
How fantastic! Good for you! and your hubby and family!
You rock girl!!!!
All I can say is WOW! What you've done is amazing!
Thanks for answering all of these questions!
Wow, that's amazing! Congrats!! :top:
I started my weight loss journey in September, and so far am down 35lbs. I would like to lose about 10-15 more before our wedding in August. I just started to cut out higher fats foods and sugars, along with walking when I could and doing hip hop abs.
Sooo what do you eat in order to get your grains in? I can't fathom cutting out an entire food group.
i don't eat grains. it's actually very easy to live without them. your body can survive without carbohydrate, but it can't survive without fat & protein.
