Last night I had a dream. Maybe is it what I subconsciously desire, or maybe it is just all the Tylenol I was taking for my cold.

Anyways, I had a dream I was in the grocery store. My coupon binder is on the top of my cart. All the coupons I am about to use are in the READY-TO-GO pouch inside along with the list of items to buy. So, I shop and my cart eventually becomes full. I come to the checkout, open my binder and...OMG! Almost faint there. Instead of my regular binder, I have my US coupon binder. (FYI, I do have a separate binder for US coupons, organized in the similar way like my CAN binder). So, I stand there, red-faced and covered in cold sweat. Then the sweet voice (cashier) says: Don't you worry. As of ....(date, I can't remember) we accept US coupons. I rejoice, checkout. Then I run to my car, unload stuff into the trunk and drive home like a maniac to share the GOOD NEWS on SmartCanucks.

    And the alarm sounds...

I understand, this is just a dream. Do you have any ideas on WHY CAN and US do not accept each others' coupons?

I understand there are different currencies, products, cost centres and GLs. But most companies are huge corporations that manufacture and sell on both sides of the border. Why don't they find a smart way to make Canucks happy too?

Many Canadians shop in US now and then. When you do, do you buy groceries?

If someone wants to shop for groceries, but cannot get coupons because most sites will tell you "Sorry, you cannot view and print coupons from your area", you can PM me and I will show you how to do it.

I do have a special binder for US coupons. I like the variety they offer in US, the high value of some printable coupons and long expiration dates, and you pay no duty for groceries at the border. I can't wait until I go to New Hampshire!

Thank you for reading! I would like hear your thoughts.

I recently got a coupon booklet from a box of pampers. The coupons read: valid in the US and Canada (with the exception of a couple that were only valid in the US) The coupons were all P&G brands (charmin, bounty, old spice, gillette, pampers, ect)

There are certain laws that regard coupons ones that say valid in Canada and Us meet all the regulations others do not. I know depending on state to state there are also different laws which make some coupons illegal in those states that are legal i the next state (personally just really think it would be nice if the would make it all universal cheaper in the long run on the companies too as they wouldnt have to pay for so many different coupon designs to be made)

Agree. Make it universal and for all.
