No - fill a cup with tepid water and keep it in there for at least 20 minutes. Replace the water if it warms from your body temperature. Don't put anything on a burn. It keeps the heat in.

I knew putting anything on it keeps the burn in, but it technically already has margarine on it haha - I stuck it under the tap for a minute, it's red but not blistering - yet anyways.

no not at all...minty tooth paste works best...it keeps the burn cooled

When I was younger, I used to put toothpaste on zits! LOL Now.. I don't even get them..
