Welcome to a Monday that I would consider brisk & glacial,
A good day to spend at the spa, where you can get a facial,
I’m sure McSkier is dancing & defogging her ski goggles,
Loocie can’t even think in winter, as it causes me mind boggles,
IceScrapers, shovels & anti-freeze all part of our winter gear,
We lament about this season even though it happens every year,
No one likes being stuck in traffic especially when it’s at a halt,
One of the worst things about winter here, is boot ru-in-ing salt!
Hockey is good & so is sleigh riding, as bells take you to the chalet,
We had better grin & bear it as they say in that old cliché,
I suppose that pins & needles cold always hits us with a jolt,
& if it were at all possible, I’d be planning a winter revolt,
The season of dry & frizzy hair that is caused by central heating,
The season where memories of summer become distant & so fleeting,
Suck it up with a stiff upper lip & engage in weather bashing talk,
At least this weather makes for faster runs, when you go round the block.
