If you want to stay and haggle, make sure you get it in writing.

I haggled with Bell last March. I used the online chat. They promised 10 per cent off for one year. Then April came, and May and June. No changes in my bill. I wrote to the head office directors and attached my saved version of my chat, with "Dishnel" in India.

For my "trouble" and my long wait, I received 20 per cent off for one year, courtesy of the Bell Head Office. Unfortunately, that ends in March.

Trust me, for ANY deal they quote you, GET IT IN WRITING.

I switched from Cable so I cancelled it after my Teksavvy line was in and it wasn't an issue for me

Definitely get anything in writing if you haggle with them, companies are known for promising a discount but only applying it for 1-3 months and then they have you signed into a contract

Teksavvy's cable internet might not be available in Kitchener yet, but their dsl is - or were you only wanting cable internet with them?

After reading all these posts now I am wondering if this will in fact effect our Bell costs.
I thought because we had some pretty good bundle discounts and some other
" negotiated " discounts that I haggled for that all in all it was affordable for our household.

There was a small note on the top of my last bill that read :

Effective March ,2011, an extreme usage fee of $1.00 per GB for use exceeding 300GB per month will apply. It goes on to tell me that given our current usage level, this will likely not effect us.

The numbers seem to be different. bell talks about exceeding 300 GB per month and the post above me is quoting 25GB use.
Which is it?

How long have you been with Bell, walkonby? Plans are grandfathered if you were a customer for a certain number of years

Because of all the complaints, Teksavvy is increasing our downloads from 200 to 300GB a month, lol.

I'm ending ALL ties with Rogers in April and want to check in with those who are with Teksavvy, Acanac or any other providers other than Bell or Rogers to see how the changes in March have affected everyone. I'm planning on bundling with a home phone also so any feedback for signing up with the best deal would be really appreciated. thanks all!
