Trading is a huge topic so we're going to take it a bite at a time starting with creating wishlist and tradelists.
This screencast, Thing 4, will show examples of wish lists and trade lists and provide some information on where to post your lists once you have created them. Your activity will be, you guessed, create a tradelist and wishlist or share some tips/thoughts on ones you've created
View Coupon Trade Lists and Wish Lists
Activities
For people with trade lists already:
1. Please post a link to your lists and talk about your experience setting them up and where you post them (in the thread or on your profile).
2. Do you trade for things other than coupons? If so why?
For people just making a tradelist for the first time:
1. Find a tradelist or a wishlist that you think is easy to read and well organized. Share the name of SCer who has created the trade list and link to it.
Is this the first time you've linked to another site or thread on Smart Canucks.
See how in the next post. Practice on us.
2. What are some other things people trade coupons for besides coupons?
3. Try creating a tradelist and wishlist. Keep it simple. It can grow over time.
Important Tip
Save your work often. Sometimes there's a hiccup and all your work can disappear.
Getting a Quick Start on Creating Your First List
Creating your first tradelist and wishlist can be a daunting task. Check out the two tips below for how to bootstrap the set up of your own trade list and save time.

How to Make a Link in a Post?
- You write some words for your link such as This is my first link.
- You copy the URL from the page you want to go to ie. http://www.smartcanucks.ca/ etc etc.
- You highlight This is my first link with your mouse.
- Click on the blue globe icon with a link of a chain over it - see red arrow in the image just above.
- It'll pop up a box for you to fill in the URL.
- Paste the URL into the box making sure there is ONLY ONE http:// at the beginning.
- Click okay.
- Save your post.
- To test, click on your link, hopefully it'll go where you intended.
So practice on us and we'll help you out if you get stuck.

Great - glad it's useful. And this is a great place to practice and if it doesn't work quite right, we can take a look and help.

2. What are some other things people trade coupons for besides coupons?
well I have done trades for actual items but it is very time consuming....ppl sent me coupons and I bought the items at LD and then shipped the items to the ppl
3. Try creating a tradelist and wishlist. Keep it simple. It can grow over time.
I find because I ride so many trains it is hard to maintain a trade list as I am always putting coupons in train envelopes...

2. What are some other things people trade coupons for besides coupons?
Last year right around this time, I started a mad dash trade for canadian tire money. I was trying to save up enough money to buy DD a swing set for her birthday.(In may) The people on SC were AWESOME in helping me, I did tons of trades and received TONS of amazing raoks. I didn't end up with enough for a swingset, BUT I did manage to collect over 50$ in CT money. It was great =) DD ended up getting seadoo life jacket instead. Which got great use last summer =)Niagara Falls for New years!!! YIPPY!!!!!

Even though I only created my lists a couple of weeks ago, it's already out of date Oh well
2. Do you trade for things other than coupons? If so why?
I've traded stamps, SDM points, stacks of coupons and gift cards.
I also am currently participating in a card exchange and a Easter package exchange. It's fun to get mail that isn't billsLast edited by middleclassmom; Fri, Mar 4th, 2011 at 11:29 AM. Reason: addition
