Give your Doctor a Checkup
This is a pretty interesting web site, it allows you to rate your doctor and read reviews.

These can be false readings so don't fully rely on these. I've seen the same thing for teachers and while the strict ones got the lowest marks, the ones who couldn't teach got the highest.

I think if enough people say the the same thing, good or bad about a Dr., it could be quite accurate though.

Could be.... but take it as a secondary source just in case. I see Dr. Steele is rated 5/5, yet she constantly puts people down from what she's done to my family. (Nova Scotian doctor)

These ratings sites tend to attract people who are angry or disappointed with their healthcare services, as the old saying goes, 'no news is good news'.
That being said every little bit of info on a doctor, dentist or hospital is valuable to me, I'll just weigh it accordingly.
Another good site with Canadian doctor, hospital and dentists rating is Healthcare Reviews, http://www.healthcarereviews.com its pretty fast and free (no need to even register)

I think Google has the right idea, they basically force the person to show who they are to help keep the fake reviews to a minimum. I can understand people being hesitant to leave a negative review with something as personal as a doctor / patient relationship, but there must be some sort of transparency. Many doctors hire reputation management services to post reviews which are favorable to out weigh any negative reviews they may have gotten from real patients.
