I've been working on my binder all day but I would love some input from people on what they think works best.
Do people find alphabetical works better then categories?
How do you keep track of the expiry dates?
Are people using one slot per product coupon?
What about the coupons that you know you are not going to use but you know other people will want them for coupon trading and such?
Are people finding the baseball sheets are too small?
I actually have some old photo albums that are made from 3 ring sheets that hold 4 x 6 pictures. So that means there are 4 slots on each page and I was thinking on digging these out as they might work better for the bigger coupons?
I also found in one of my daughters old binders a plastic divider that has a envelope attachment right on it and I thought this would be great to use for store point coupons such as SDM and I could also use this sheet to seperate my fav stores?!?!? I'm going to look forr more of these and try to post a pic of it soon.
The binder I'm using is also a old one of my daughters because it zips, has a front pocket that is seperate with a folder in it for flyers and other pockets for things such as scissors, pens, etc. Its a five star binder.
Anyone got any advice for a newbie coupon binder?
Thanks!

I prefer alphabetical to categories because some coupons cannot fit properly into a category. And it makes it a lot easier to me if I spot something on sale to just find the product by brand name.

I separate my binder. One divider has food items. One divider as nonfood coupons.
My binder isn't really big, though.
The photo dividers work for multiple size coupons.
The sheet protectors store full page coupons you did not cut, or coupon books.

I have 15 dividers in my binder. once you get used to the order they are in, finding your coupons becomes easier. I have them in this order as it seems this is the order that I do my shopping. Also investing in a zippered binder is a good idea. Mine has a pocket in the front that I keep my planned purchase coupons in so I dont have to dig them out at the store.
Here are my catagories,
Produce/anything sold in the produce aisle including refridgerated dressings etc
Bread
Grocery shelf items breakfast
Grocery shelf items food
Grocery shelf items snacks
grocery shelf items drinks/juices
cleaning supplies/house hold items
Paper products (tp, paper towels, tissues)
pet supplies

Frozen food items
frozen/refridgerated juices
H&B
Baby supplies
