Proud only begins to describe how I feel about this little guy-he has been with his Dad and myself since he was a little over a year-and although I may have had no part in 'MAKING' him...I honestly don't think I could adore him any more even if he was 'my own'! He is a sponge..he takes EVERYTHING in, and thankfully-his life thus far has been pretty positive, our main goal is to keep it that way as long as we can =) I grew up with parents who were firm believers that once kids have "The Basics" --a firm sense of self- the ability to know right and wrong-and stand up for what IS right- and the gift to love no matter what we were faced with-we would succeed....and I'll be darned--they were right! I want my family to have the most wonderful, fulfilling, beautiful life imaginable-- if I can conquer that, I will die a proud and happy woman! We may not have the means to provide our kids with everything they 'want' or everything we wish they could have,but they will never have to question our love-or our total commitment to them.
When little things like what happened on Sunday occur-it just reassures me that we are are on the right track =) I know I am not perfect, and I am sure there will be times I screw up in the mother-department--but with every passing day, my confidence in my ability to raise well rounded, thoughtful and amazing kids gets stronger!
Thanks to all of you who wrote such kind posts, honestly-my face hurts from my grin getting bigger and bigger as I work my way down the pages!
