my understanding is that stores in Washington state don't double/triple regularly, but do so as special events or promos.
many stores apparently let you use one manufacturer/one in-store coupon though.
I haven't started using coupons in the US yet, but I'm researching it & may start soon. :)
currently, I shop at the US 'health food type' stores: Trader Joes (similar to Choices/Capers/WholeFoods, but at Superstore prices), Terra Organica, and Bellingham Food Co-op.
I also like the Bellingham Farmer's Market - rated the best farmer's market in the Pacific Northwest after Pike Place market - unfortunately it won't be open now until April.
Also fun: Pickford theatre for foreign films, low-budget films, documantaries, etc. (bonus- they use real butter on the popcorn!) :)
I actually joined the site quite some time ago when I was a struggling college student trying to find some deals. However, when I saw that "Extreme Couponing" show last week, it made me remember "Hey, I joined that forum awhile back.." And here I am, almost every day >.< My husband is scared I will start hoarding free toilet paper and kraft dinner.
Welcome Featherbones, and welcome back PinkLincoln. My dh was like that at first too, thought I had gone crazy or something. But by showing him my receipts and the amount of stuff I can buy for so little, I have convinced him to build me an area for stockpiling when he does our basement renos! He has even started to pay more attention to what he buys and how much he pays. Couponing is soooo addicting!

Hi all!
Like many of the newcomers to SC, I've recently discovered the art of couponing thanks to TLC's "Extreme Couponing" I can't believe that I've never really paid much attention to coupons before (unless it was obvious and right in front of me) until a few days ago! It was a surge of adrenaline when I got 3 cans of shave cream for free last night at Walmart using my Gilette save $5 WUB3. Definetly hooked to say the least :-)
Looking forward to be part of this forum...and saving some bucks!
Welcome to the board!
hi welcome, I'm still new to and yes I admit I found coupons through the TLC thing to.
Welcome to SmartCanucks....

Yay ! Just need cable now
One woman paid $2.64 for more than $600 worth of merchandise.
Wow. though I think they get more and better coupons in the states. That is incredible!
