Watched the show as well and I must say it does make me wanna coupon more. Too bad most of what they showed won't work in Canada
. Most stores have limit on products bought (especially sale items) and limit of like coupons. Stores will either adjust coupons that are over the product price or just not accept them at all. Taxes would kill you (no way to pay less than $100 for every $1000).
And mustard lady probably broke one of the rules of couponing: "buy what you would use", paying $25 for 62 bottles of mustard that you're likely gonna throw out defeats the purpose. Im guessing she'll give some away or donate them to food banks. And who the heck needs 35 bottles of Maalox? Unless shes gonna give them out like candies theyll likely expire before she finishes the stock.Last edited by metalkal; Thu, Apr 7th, 2011 at 01:23 AM.

what i found funny about her is she said she was going shopping to get everything she needed to host a party for 20.. and she grabbed those.. my first thought was "ohh party favors!" lol
and i agree with those who said mustard lady was a bit odd.. buying ALL that purposely clearing the shelf on an item which her husband doesn't even like! (an item that can take a household months to go through JUST 1 bottle-i think we buy MAYBE 1 bottle a year!)When life hands you Edward Cullen...throw him back and demand Eric Northman....

I finished watching both episodes, the lady in the purple sweater and the shiny boots who was talking about paying very close attention to how she looked... do you all do that? Do you try to look good and put together while couponing, or do you just not bother?
I try to strike a balance, I don't want to look like I just crawled out of a hole, but I don't feel the need to look perfect or anything. I wear a lot of brand name clothes (all from thrift stores, though) so I don't really want to get comments like "You know, if you didn't buy such overpriced clothing you could probably afford all your groceries!" or anything. The "horror stories" about other customers and their snotty comments freak me out.

I am just ME...I don't under dress or over dress. I wear my jeans and a shirt and if I feel like putting makeup on, great. I'm not trying to impress anyone but my husband. I thought that woman was ridiculous...she bothered me from start to finish. Stopping to reapply your makeup before going to the checkout? Get real!! Oh well...as long as she thought she looked good....I thought she looked a purple mess.

I'm still in love with the woman from the first show that aired months ago...the one who teaches others how to save. She just seems so down to earth and practical. She doesn't go to extremes.
The new shows...I wasn't overly impressed. I was horrified at all the stockpiles all over the house...except for the lady with 7 in the family...in that case I bet you need to have stock wherever you can put it. One of the only things I learned from the show is that cream cheese can be frozen...who knew?!?! LOL!

I couldn't miss it last night. Wow, they really had big stockpiles everywhere!
The shelves that rotated the cans was neat. I couldn't imagine having stuff all around the house or spending hours and hours at the checkout but I liked watching the show.
My favourite couple was the one that got the kids involved looking at the flyers and seeing if they had coupons for the items. She seemed to buy stuff that they needed/used. Didn't really like the mustard lady or the one that was so concerned with her looks.
I guess they have to check coupon policies in the US too. It was funny how that one couple had to call their friends in order to cash out or that other couple who had 18 transactions.
It too bad coupons don't scan here in Canada.Last edited by Applepie; Thu, Apr 7th, 2011 at 08:51 AM.

I agree, but I always try to be put together when I go out, except at like 10pm to get chips or something. My mom and I always joke around that people must die when they see me pull out my coupons from my Louis Vuitton purse, not what they probably expect (I didn't pay retail, bought it used for an amazing price)

Hi ladies, ok so i just wanted in on this... I am a little mad at this show,
I understand the whole buy in bulk theory, but what they do is overkill..I am sorry but who in there right mind would buy that much deoderant( THE GUY HAD DONE IT)
give it to the homeless shelters you know in five years or so they will all be dried out!! and than what good is it to you. the young women who bought that much maalox wil be buying it again due to experation date.
the only person who i thought was doing it right was the lady who was a nurse, she was telling ppl how to buy smartshe went around collecting the coupons from her nrighbours and the barber shop... her counters may have been full but it wasn't crazy!! my dh made me laugh though after watching the show he went to save.ca, however the website was to busy to get on!!! sorry for my rant but i needed to get that off my shoulders!!!

Well it did live up to it's name "extreme".
So most of the show was pretty much a "set up". They all said this was their biggest shop ever. All their stockpiles had the brand names turned away from the camera for the most part.
The Malox lady was a joke. She bought all those just to bump up her bill. It was pretty much what I have come to expect from American reality t.v. all staged events.
The woman with 7 kids who reffered to her kids a a "litter". LMAO
Unfortunately none of it is applicable here but it was nice to learn that you can freeze cream cheese. LOL

I tell you those women stressed me out just watching them...i sure don't think i could ever work myself up to buying that much stuff and wandering around with $40,000 worth of coupons.
And i for one would find it really odd to be watched doing my grocery...and then applauded
One thing i did love is the fact there wasn't a queue for the cashier and seems like no-one else really in the store...AND no problems from the cashier
