Kudos to those that can do it. As much as my addiction to couponing, I don't think I have the guts or the power to haul 1100 boxes of cereal or 9 full shopping carts out of the store.
Let alone keeping tracking of all the coupons being scanned. I would die if they make a mistake and have to re-scan the whole thing again.

I had a good time watching these people. The first lady, I felt her turmoil at the checkout. But being said, I think she went overboard. I sympathasized with her, but there is a limit to what you need, and after what you need, it is just plain greed; that is if unless you give it away to shelters or families. Cool show though; just shows the capabilty of people that can add numbers and who have a lot of time on their hands.

Intervention meets Hoarders.. throw in a Kate plus 8 and there will be enough people to actually consume those copious amounts of food!!!
Now that is why Zellers is a purely Canadian store..imagine doing that at the Big Z here?!! They would would have the biggest hissy fit possible, oh wait they have done that already.
Seriously, amazing....was it just me or do you think the guy at the end with the trailer has an 'underground' store? Wonder how much they got paid to do the show? Maybe payment was in coupons?

Oh wow, would it be possible to do anything near as extreme here ? Could you imagine having to manually input all of those coupons?
I was pretty impressed with the deals they were getting, and it was cool to see how nicely they had their stock piles set up. It would be kind of neat having your own personal grocery store .
Except the first lady...it was pretty horrifying how she had to resort to just throwing things into an already huge pile at the end.
The last guy was pretty nuts purchasing mass quantities of things he'll never finish using in his lifetime. It just seemed pretty wasteful.
The nurse was definitely the most well adjusted, I agreed with her method and philosophy.
As for the other lady...I was just amused that she dressed so well to dumpster dive. I wouldn't have risked ruining those cute boots jumping in a dumpster .

I think they used to have coupon doubling occasionally at least where I live but I was too young to know what it was about.I just did it once years ago because it was a one day special at IGA didn't buy as much as I thought I would because even with double coupons IGA was more expensive than with a single coupon at a another store.I remember Calgary Safeway ads after this in the Calgary Sun that would have 6 coupons that you could use to double your own coupons. It was just a one day thing.I remember seeing it a few times.

It was a little odd watching it, because I think there's a bit of dysfunction there. Some of the reasons they began the extreme couponing could have used some counseling. But the lady who wanted to help everyone else save and didn't buy mass amounts was amazing.

wow crazy..
they said 3000 rolls of tp would last 40 years. we go through a roll a day. so at my house it'd only last about 8 and half years. still too much!! i think a year worth of supply would be good enough.
are they realy going to eat all the cereal and salad dressing? i think a food bank should hire these people to work for them.
