Was at physio at Parkway Mall and saw a large banner on the store beside Value Village that said "Queens Buffet opening soon $10.99".

Anyone have the scoop on this one?

I was by there again and noticed that the name is actually Maple Leaf Queen's Buffet. They have just started a facebook page with 3 members. There isn't any information on the facebook page.

No clue on that one - **off topic, sort of**

Just got back from a nice Thai meal at the new restaurant, Splash. VERY good, love the atmosphere, and so nice that we didn't pay We love Suwanna's, but due to the location and the cost, we never seem to make it a priority to get there. Meals run around $17-$19 an entre so, it's really no more expensive than most chain restaurants. It costs my husband almost $10 to eat a fast food joint so

I've found our go to "nice" meal spot - and SO close to home

I'll keep my ears out for news on the new buffet place!

There is a restaurant uptown on Union St. (Where the old Wendy's was). I'm sorry I can't remember the name, but they have really good Curry Chicken. It is not the most fancy restaurant, but you get a good amount of food for the price.

Suwanna is located by Olsens on the west side.

The place on Union is good too. I think it is called Saigon Noodle?

You do have a Value Village in F'ton. It is located on the same street as The Amsterdam Inn...Bishop Drive. It is only about 3 years old.

It's West, just down the street from Bowlarama. It's in an old Victorian home (actually, I think it is beside the funeral home?). It is Thai and it's amazing. It is a leisurely kind of meal, best done with shared dishes among friends. It's been there for years, at least 7 or 8. It is a hidden gem and it is always busy. The family is originally from Switzerland (? if I remember correctly).

It isn't the cheapest meal around, but when shared with friends on a special occasion, it is well worth the trip.

My fav is their Chicken Matasaman Curry. Wow, just sooo good.

Thanks for the recommendation - I have seen it but never ventured in for a meal. If they do take-out, it really doesn't matter if it fancy or not. DH and I don't get to go out often so a meal at home, prepared by someone else is welcome.

That sounds great! I live out of the city but I do most of my shopping on the West Side, so I can't to check it out!
