I found these at my Sobeys too, same price. When I first saw it, I bought two boxes but hadn't read it well - thought it was just $3 off hamburger, not with HH! Ooops.
You're going to LOL at me...but I have never had Hamburger Helper! My DH says he's had it before he met me (but we've been married nearly eight years, I've never made it for him so it's been awhile), and DS has never had it. So I have these two boxes in my cupboard right now that we're going to have to try. DH will eat anything, not worried about him. :) I don't like things to be really salty, so we'll see. DS isn't horribly picky, unless something contains onions or mushrooms or peppers.
I have made a kind of hamburger-helper-esque meal with egg noodles, hamburger, veggies and taco seasoning. I've also seen recipes for a homemade version of HH, cheaper and not so loaded with salt and such. But first I'll see if we like this!
Zonny, I wouldn't be one to laugh at you.... I hadn't had it til a while back, and it's not really wonderful but just okay (flavours I've tried are all really salty) - anything made homemade similarly is much better! I make casseroles similar to them all the time.
But the veggie deal made it a draw for me - but I have four boxes waiting to be used!
I have four "boxes" waiting to be used. Of course, I've cut out the coupons from the box and it's all in a Ziploc bag now. Somebody mentioned before that they just throw out the seasoning pack and save the noodles. If you work this deal right it can still be worth while to do it that way, especially if you can find ground beef on sale. :P
I'm so jelous lol
