    I am perhaps selfishly thankful that my Son and his wife were not in Japan at this time. However, my heart breaks for those who have experienced loss.

    I am thankful that my foster sister arrived home from Hawaii safe and sound today. She had been there for 10 days.

    I am thankful that when I look out my window there is no snow or ice on the ground. Since my surgery I've been overly cautious/anxious around both because I was afraid to slip and fall. It also signals that Spring is ALMOST here, and I'm definately thankful for that.

    Thankful when DD saw a Dad and a young girl in Timmies the other day, she said "that's us a few years ago"(or something to that affect).

    I am thankful for the same thing regarding my sister and her husband. They flew out from Hawaii just before the evacuation, got to Vancouver mid-morning Friday, and home to Saskatoon mid-afternoon.

    I'm so thankful that we have a roof over our heads and that all my children and my family is safe. I remember the ice storm and the emergency shelters. I can't imagine what the Japanese people are feeling right now. Natural disasters scare the crap out of me!
