What are you thankful for today?

Thankful that I can remember my mother with love & fondness today. She left us 10 years ago today & I am missing her love & guidance, but she is with me & in my heart always & forever.

Is it me or just nostalgia speaking when I ask of you,
Are Christmas memories more precious as the years of living accrue?
Back when you were little & magic seemed so real,
Life to you was in a world that was really quite ideal,
Leafing through the catalogue & doing a little dreaming,
Hoping Santa knew you had behaved in ways that were redeeming,
Long before the high tech days & before unplugged was cool,
When the countdown was on for holidays & finally no more school,
My mom would disappear into her room with rolls of wrapping paper,
Sneaking a peak was tempting, but I could never pull off that caper,
The house always looked so nice decked in euphoric merriment,
Through my eyes now looking back it was really quite an event,
I realize now how my parents defined what it is to give your all,
& when I get the Christmas blues that’s the memory that I recall,
Sometimes at Christmas we grumble about how busy it tends to be,
Obligations & visiting those whom you don’t really care to see,
You are after all accumulating remembrances you can just chalk up to life,
Be as kind as your can to others, it will help you deal with strife,
Times may be hard for some of us, & we all have our concerns,
So my Christmas wish for all of you is that you have many happy returns.

That I am going to the Breast Assessment Clinic in Regina today for a follow up ultrasound. I had to have a surgical procedure done on Nov 26th to have a large breast abscess drained. Yesterday may have been my last day with homecare and bandages!

Just had my appointment. I am upset because they just needle aspirated another 10cc of infection; not what I had expected. I have been fighting this since Oct 30th. Looks like it still isn't over yet. I'll see my gp on Monday and continue to plan from there. Prayers are appreciated.

I'm thankful our physicals were cancelled today...I know they're a necessary evil, but we've rescheduled.
There were funner things to do.

And to echo Natalka's post....we're happy just to have had another day here on earth.....

Unfortunately some people in this world don't see little critters as helpless little ones who have souls, who have been placed here to encourage us to be fully human and care for those smaller than we are. They see dogs and cats as 'things' without needs, wants, or anything to give: they're quite the opposite. They're here to show us what love really is.

very thankful that my treatments are over. I can rest up & enjoy the Christmas holidays with people I love & care about. The kindness of everyone who saw me through this nasty disease that I intend to conquer. I am tired, but inspired.
