I used to use the Nair that came with the little 'razor' thingy (no blade, rubber and flexible). But then all of a sudden, I had a reaction to it...
My mum used it though (still does, as far as I know) with no problems, for years.
Honestly I'd just go for cheap disposables, even the ones I find at the dollar store with 3 blades are great, as good as the venus ones I have. They have moving heads and cost a buck for a pack of five.
I like the BIC in the 10 pack (I can't find the bonus packs now :() with the different colours...
They don't have the aloe strips, so nice if you have allergies.
Oh lord dont get me into someone I know trying to do their pubic hair with nair and the burn they got hahahahaha...
Ive never really used it, I hate the smell of it. Kinda like self tanner smell. Yuck.
I use it all the time and love it! I feel that over time it kind of stops working. The best one is the Nair that comes with the "sponge" because you have to rub/wash it off. Otherwise it won't come off without scrubbing.
I get a bikini wax works much better for me.
I didn't like it either, also, it's chemicals, I'd prefer something natural like shaving or waxing.
Essentially it's a chemical that burns the hair off your skin, generally taking the top layer off too.
I tried the Nair stripless wax. It has an indicator on the applicator stick telling you when the wax is the right temperature to use to prevent burning. I found it worked really well, did my whole body with a $3 tub that was on clearance at SDM :) It is also berry scented. make sure you let it COMPLETELY DRY, and you do small, thin portions. When I was rushing it just hurt and didn't work, so I re read the instructions and tried it again, took my time and was quite satisfied.
I've tried salon "sugaring" but it gives me an immediate rash, I don't know why, yet so far regular waxing and this Nair product I had no problem with.
I'd love to try the Nair wax, but I have OCD and shave every other day, I just can't stand to let my hair grow out... Even with my brows, I was freaking out near the end (they were too thin, so I was letting them grow out...but the part that needed waxing annoyed me).
I used Nair once when I was a teenager. Was very disappointed with the results.
And the stench from those chemicals? Ugh. Totally cannot be good for a person, imo. I figure there's enough crap out there in the atmosphere that is cancer causing so I don't want to slather that stuff all over my body when I can't be 100% sure it's safe.
Razors and shaving are a total pain in the butt...but for me, shaving is "the devil I know" and I get comfort in that.
It's supposed to work on short hair (according to the box) however I did not try it on any really short areas so I can't say.
